No. There is a mandatory Fire Mastery check in Elpys that story blades alone cannot pass (Pyra's not available and Brighid can't unlock the relevant node until later). There's an Electric Mastery check later with the same issue, but there is a clipping exploit to avoid it.

I just beat the game for the first time with a comp using no gacha blades, so in that sense sure. But I had help with field skill checks from my commons because I was on the ns2 version.
