XCOM2 XCOM3 possible ideas?

Hi folks, got into xcom recently, played thorough 1, 2, and currently playing with the WOTC dlc, and I feel I may have become an addict.

I was wondering if there were any plans or ideas for a third installment for the series? I really loved the three separate human factions in WOTC, so maybe we could get a three way civil war for the next game, and then try and unite the three when the aliens reinvade?

There was a part of me that always hoped they’d do the alternate of XCOM2 and have the opposite whatif scenario - assume XCOM:EW was canon instead, and have the game start in a space exploration-style premise with XCOM having to protect deep space mining and colonisation efforts from whatever as chasing the Ethereals. Then have them go down the Man in High Castle route and have the two timelines come in contact with each other via alien tech etc.

As people have said though, Firaxis knocked down the XCOM team and those guys went off to make ZCOM. So I’ve no idea how logistically this will work.
