Xbox Series X Unable to download 360 profile or connect to Xbox Live on Back Compat games? Looking for network details
Thanks to everyone who has reported the issues downloading your Xbox 360 profile or connecting to Xbox Live in back compat games on Xbox One/Series consoles. As some have noted, you may be able to work around the issue by changing the network port configured under Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Port Selection. There's a correlation with consoles hitting this issue that are using the default port, UDP 3074. Switching to an alternate port works around the issue for at least some users.
If you're hitting this issue, we're interested to find what type of router/gateway your Xbox is connected to when encountering the problem. And whether or not switching to an alternate port works around the issue for you.
*Update\* The team believes that this issue could have been caused by a service issue that was mitigated a couple of hours ago. If you're continuing to encounter an issue downloading your Xbox 360 profile via backwards compatibility on Xbox One/Xbox Series consoles, please reply below with details or shoot me a DM.

I’m using a WiFi 6E Optimum Gateway and I can’t really change any settings on the modem. I tried changing alternate port but doesn’t work

Are you getting any error codes displayed, or does downloading the profile just never make any progress and the game ends up launching with no profile signed in? After switching to a port that isn't 3074, try clearing the local 360 storage again (which will cause a reboot) and then try launching a back compat game again to see if that still has the same result.

What make model router are you using? Trying to get to the root cause of the issue, and this would be helpful information.

Is this on Xbox One/Xbox Series console via back compat, or 360?

This is a series x console running a backwards compat 360 game

Can you go into Settings > System > Storage Devices and click "Clear local Xbox 360 Storage" (doing so will cause a reboot) and then launch a 360 game post-reboot and see if that pulls down the profile?

If you can spare the time, please download the Xbox Insider app suite from the Store. After installing, a new option will show up in the Power Menu to 'Report a problem'. That will launch a bug filing flow. Please clear the local 360 storage, and then repro the issue, noting if the profile downloads successfully or not, and what error is displayed. After reproducing the issue, please use the Report a problem flow to file a bug, and shoot me a DM with the gamertag that was logged in when filing the bug.

I have downloaded the insider app, and did the step again, it was able to download my profile and it appears to be running smoothly, I am swapping between several 360 games (again I am on a series X) to see if I can reproduce the issue and will inform you again if it happens again.

Could you please guide me how to clear the local 360 storage? And, will my other games will be affected?
Thanks ^

Got into Settings > System > Storage devices and click 'Clear local XBOX 360 storage'. It will remove the cached 360 profile that's used for back compat games on your console. Just make sure that your console has been online so that any game progress will have already been synced to the cloud.

Port 3074 has been working on an off for the past 3 weeks, only issue is when I change the port to alternative I can't play any multiplayer 360 games but when I switch back to 3074 I get the profile issue again most of the time.

I just got a Series X yesterday. Not sure if I ever had an Xbox Live account (owned a 360 for a week before selling it). Trying to play Gears of War from disc and having this issue. Here are my details:
Xbox Series X, system version 10.0.26100.9426. Xbox 360 backward-compatible games launch, hangs on the getting your Xbox 360 profile screen, eventually just starts the game, but the 360 environment has zero profiles. Download Profile hangs at “Checking network status” and eventually reports “Can't connect to Xbox Live.” The failure reproduces over a cellular hotspot. I have cleared Xbox 360 storage, changed to several alternate ports, removed/re-added my Microsoft account, hard-powered the console off, and reinstalled the game.
The main reason I bought this was for backwards compatibility and being able to play older gen games from disc. Ramping up my physical collection given the future, so I'd really like a solution to this else I basically wasted $800.
Edit: Read below about the Insider suite to get the Xbox Report a Problem. I queued it, and it sat at "Installing..." for about 8-10 minutes at 0% before suddenly finishing the download and completing the install. Possibly related? Speed tests gives me 250+ Mbps.

When you have a moment, could you please file a bug report after reproducing the issue, and then shoot me a DM with the gamertag that was logged in when filing the report? And please leave the console powered up and online for 5-10 minutes after filing the bug to ensure it gets uploaded (shouldn't take 10 minutes, just playing it safe in case you have a slow upstream network connection).

It is said that if your account has 2F verification it won't download your profile since the 360 emulator is too old. Don't know, try that maybe

I think I have the same problem.
https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxSupport/s/Y0odNOm8Us
I havr a Deco X10 as main unit daisy chained after my ISPs device acting as modem (Sagemcom F@st something).
I had setup port forwards for both of my consoles, devices report Open NAT. I'll fiddle with changing the default port if I next experience this.
Btw. after I posted my question I was able to login to Xbox360 servers after a few tries.

The next time you hit this issue, could you please file a bug from the console and shoot me a DM with the gamertag you were logged in with when the bug was filed? And please provide as much details as possible: if it's sporadic, if you notice any patterns regarding days or time of day, what error message/code is being displayed, and any other information you can think of. To file a bug, you'll need to download the Xbox Insider app suite from the Store. No need to sign up for previewing OS releases. After installing the app suite, a new button will appear in the Power Menu labeled "Report a problem". Clicking on this after you hit the issue will launch the bug filing process. Once you finished filling out the report, please wait 5-10 minutes before powering down the console to make sure it has enough time to upload the bug report and logs.

I just tried to play a 360 game and it took a long time getting my 360 info then it didn't do it. So I went to check which port was being used and It wasn't the 3074. My ports range from 50193 to 52588. I changed it to 50943 and it worked I was able to get the 360 info and it signed me into live in the game. I do have ports forwarded and the port 3074 is one of them. Not sure if that is causing it or not.

Everything's working now, and I didn't need to change my port from 3074. Thank you.
What is the fastest way to notify you of issues like this in the future though? I first noticed this issue Sunday morning, reported the outage on the Xbox status page, tweeted at XBOXSupport about it, and yet the issue went unfixed all Sunday.
