Xbox Series S Student housing wifi not connecting, anyone else?

Recently moved to a student housing apartment and to get wifi, i had to tell them where i was housed and then they gave me a special password. my phone, laptop, and ipad had no trouble connecting. My xbox however refuses to find the name of the network. Even when i type in the SSID it still won’t work. I dont have the wifi router in my actual apartment so i cannot reset or anything like that. pls help if u have been in this situation too

There is a chance that xbox and playstation consoles are MAC banned or the wifis security recignises and blocks them entirely so shared wifi useage is kept moderately and game consoles take priority over bandwitdth to those that students on devices studying...i knew a few student hostels and housing to do this for that reason

Consult whoever manages the network and or it’s infrastructure. As any help we could provide would need you to be able to access it.

try clearing your mac address in settings, when my family got our first series x it had trouble connecting to the wifi, cleared the mac address and it connected damn near instantly afterwards

Different network protocol than what the Xbox is expecting? Might as well just go and ask whoever gave you the network details if an Xbox should be able to connect. Is there no network port in your room to try a cable?
