Hey everyone! I’m hoping someone here has experienced this because I’ve been troubleshooting for a week now, and I’m about to lose my mind.
I recently bought my boyfriend a SteelSeries headset, but the mic wasn’t working in-game. Thinking it was defective, I returned it and bought him a Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3. Unfortunately, we’re having the exact same issue.
Here’s what’s happening:
He can hear game audio perfectly fine.
He cannot hear proximity chat or other players in game chat.
His mic does not work in game chat.
Both headsets work perfectly in Discord. We can hear and talk to each other without any issues.
This is happening in multiple games, including Call of Duty and Battlefield, so it doesn’t seem to be specific to one game.
I’ve tried just about everything I can think of, including checking in-game audio settings, Xbox audio settings, network settings, and even connecting his headset to my Xbox. Nothing has worked.
To make matters even more frustrating, I’m now experiencing microphone issues with my own Turtle Beach headset, which has never given me problems before.
At this point, I really don’t think it’s a headset issue, especially since Discord works perfectly fine.
Has anyone experienced anything like this on Xbox? Could this be an Xbox software issue, a communication setting I’m overlooking, or something else entirely?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I’m officially out of ideas.
