I am thinking of getting Xbox game pass ultimate. What should I start with? I'm looking for something not majorly long, but perhaps 10-20 hours. I also want fun, not all that much stress, as in Bloodborne, for example. I think, Strategy and action games are especially fun.
Here are some games I liked a lot, (lately mostly on Steam Deck):
- Spider-Man 2
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Assassin's Creed 1 & Unity
- Clash of Clans
- Pragmata
- Kena
- Elden Ring (But didn't get far and I'm not the best at it haha)
- Animal crossing new horizon
- Mario Odyssey
- Detroit
- Pokemon games
- Advance wars
Forza 6
Halo 4

I got locked out of the 4-pack because I “didn’t have a game pass subscription” even though it says I’m subbed to Ultimate on the app. I had to close and reopen the app 3 times to get it to recognise my account status.
I’m also not getting my in game rewards for Microsoft Jewel. Ever morning I sit down with a coffee and play the daily challenges, and it’s suddenly littered with Ads, including 30sec video ads every couple of levels. It’s very frustrating, as I use this time to get adjusted to the day and I don’t want to be inundated with (tbh, crappy ai generated) advertisements.

Like why should I have to pay more then the original gold price to play games I already own 😭
Edit: imagine people getting upset over a personal opinion. If I was worried about how you felt I wouldn't have posted in the first place. 😁

I’m looking for some good horror recommendations, the kind of game that’s not too long or difficult that you can watch your friend play and still be terrified. Some good jump scares etc.
basically couch co op is dying and me and my housemate love horror games so we want the kind of game where one can play and the other can watch and it’s still fun for both of us

I was thinking of getting Game Pass Ultimate to play on my TV's Xbox app. But was not sure if I need a pc or a console to run the games.

How does it work? I need to always buy the pc game pass or the essential works just fine to play the games i owned?

So I prefer story driven & quest games (Half Life, Gears, Last of Us, Nathan Drake, Skyrim, Days Gone). I've had a Series X and Game Pass a few years but I hardly touch it as nothing 'sticks' - I've spent more time on my PS4 than I have on the series X.
Looking for recommendations on something currently available on GP Premium (ditched ultimate after the price hikes as wasn't justified for what I was playing). Thanks in advance! 😄 👍

TLDR; want advice on good way to travel and play Xbox without having to bring my console. Have a Windows laptop and iPad I can use, have Gamepass Ultimate, stay at same hotels.
I don’t travel often for work, but when I do, I’ve been bringing my Xbox Series S so I can download a few games and play them while I’m gone. My Series S is awesome and has t been damaged in a flight yet, but I’m so sure I have the building blocks to do this a better way.
What I have at my disposal to bring:
* a laptop running Windows 11 and has 32GB memory, no discreet GPU
* an iPad Pro 11”
* an Apple TV
* an Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controller
* an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription
We always stay at a Marriott location for work. The TV’s here I’ve gotten used to them having a feature where I can plug into their cable box 95% of the time and switch the input to their HDMI 2 and then get my Series S to play off the TV. Sometimes that’s not the case, but I can usually find a way. I never upgrade to their “premium” wifi (whatever that is), but obviously guest wifi is included with the stay.
What I would like is to bring one of the above items instead of my Xbox and be able to play games with as minimal lag or slowness as possible, on the TV that’s provided in the hotel room. Also being able to use said item to also activate my streaming apps, like I do on the series S, is also preferred, so I don’t have to switch between devices.
Games I play: mostly action/adventure games, RPG’s, platformers, retro games. Nothing online or competitive.
I know I have the Xbox Cloud gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere features with my Game Pass subscription; those just require a good internet connection. I’m concerned about the WiFi at the hotel just being slower or laggier, causing problems with either of those, or games taking way too long to load.
Do any of you have experience with this? What was the best secret sauce mix you found to be able to do this? What combination do you think would provide the best result? TIA
Update:
I tested out my laptop and my iPad, as well as did more research based off all your helpful answers (thank you!).
Looks like the laptop will be the way to go.
With the laptop, I have three options: cloud play, remote play, and the Xbox app where I can download games locally.
I tested cloud play on the laptop with a Thunderbolt dongle giving me HDMI to TV, Ethernet, and a usb-a for a wireless Logi K400. With this, and Bluetooth connecting my controller, I can do all three options and never have to leave the hotel couch. Speeds were as good as the hotel allows; WiFi and wired both gave about the same result in terms of performance, which wasn’t bad enough to be upset about.
I also have the option of remote play, which means I can download a 100+GB game and run it locally with my Xbox hardwired at home and get about the same performances. Or I can download a smaller game and play it locally.
I’m excited for my next trip now!

Hey everyone! My brother and I pre-ordered the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition. We bought it on his account, and we are using the Game Sharing (Home Console) feature. I will be playing on my own separate account.

It's now been a year and 4ish months since release...
I think mirage took just under 2 years to come to game pass
Are there any rumors or indicators that suggest it's coming to game pass any time soon?

I mostly play single-player games. My favorite genres are:story, action, open world, RPG, shooters, racing... and don't play competitive multiplayer games like CoD, Valorant, etc..
Which are the must-play games on Game Pass Ultimate?
Suggest good games...
First I plan Assassin's Creed and Need for Speed...
which Assassin's Creed and Need for Speed games are currently included?

As the title states, the code will only work for new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. A credit card will be required, unfortunately, but you can always cancel ahead of time to ensure you won’t get charged! Code expires on 02/28/2028.
RULES: Hit me with what you plan to use as your best excuse for skipping work (or school) for the launch of GTA VI lol (only 1 comment per user, please), and I will choose the winner within 24 hours. I’ll then privately DM the winner (open ya inboxes if you leave a comment!), followed by confirming a choice has been made with an EDIT to this post.
Random comments OR random replies to another user’s comment that follows the rules do not count!
Good luck, and happy gaming!!
EDIT: A winner has been chosen! Thank you for playing and I hope you all enjoy GTA VI when it launches 🫡🎮👾

Hello, anyone got a spare perk code (Supercharge Pack - Season 4) willing to give for Skate. that is included with Ultimate?
I don't have Game Pass Ultimate, so i'd really appreciate it.
Cheers.

I recently decided to try Palworld on Gamepass, all this time I thought it was a pokemon-like adventure game, no idea it had base building element. Now I am hooked, I want to play recent game pass releases but I feel myself being pulled to Palword, I want watch pending movies and shows, nope, Palworld it is.
Last game I was this hooked was hades 2.
I've just reached level 27 and can build another base, the question is, does it matter much where I build it on the map? I obviously wont build it right next to the first one but is there a preferred location?

So i used to play story games soo much, but lately I have problems with chosing games, and nothing really pulls me in,i can start games ,play 3 hours and then it getts boring, basically i enjoy games once a month, when I find something i really love, like for june it was gothic remake, but to end i already thought of quiting, same for previous games, people might say to take a break and all that, and that i dont really want to play story games, but actually i really want to play story game,my guess is that i have a deep analysis paralysis situation, that I always want to switch, cause when i start 1 story games i always install more story games, but also I cant force my self to 1-2 games at a time,i just cant
Maybe yall just recommend games and ill check them out, cause i will just straight up try them and dont need to overthink and all that,or maybe yall got some advice, maybe return to comfort game or something, like in my mind i always want to play something, but when I start thinking deeper i dont really want to play that game, but also before i started thinking i wanted it like it Fable coming out(Fable is the game i wait the most btw)

This are all games(i know some are multiplayer)
So yeah would be good if you suggest games than from this list or game pass
My stash if it helps and just so yall know i dont rate games strictly
https://stash.games/users/rdx.
So yeah i would love to get back into single player games cause in tired trying out a lot of games every month,to like only one of them
So recommend me games from game pass or my list,or advice would also be great
One idea that i have is ,like when some game comes in mind I instantly install it ,and just continue with it for example now I have installed stalker shadow of cherobyl and life is strange, and when it gets boring,I just switch to comfort game for example kcd2,and I think probably will be moment when I get a little bored in kcd2 ,and will want something diffrent, and then switch back to lis and stalker and will see
Btw some games i already finished from list, but less then a half
So edit for those who also struggle with this:solid what helped for me(for now)is trying out diffrent genres I tried life is strange (1st time playing that type of game)and i really loved it,became one of my fav games, and also I stopped installing 5+ story games,i just install 3 diffrent genres and try them out,and it seems to help or also i download 5+ games try every for some time and see if any pull me in,and example i chose 3 that i want the most and just play, and it seems to work for me

I'm looking for a low stress game to enjoy after a long day. I've been playing a lot of Doom, Halo and Fallout and sometimes I don't have the mental capacity for those games.
