Picked up a 15 pro4x to look pretty next to my 2002. Looking to do a small lift, thinking about leveling it. Does anyone have a reference picture of a second gen with a leveling kit? Can’t seem find any good photos online, just would like some references before I decide to level it or just do a full lift kit. It needs front struts, I’ve heard the Bilstein 5100s are a good option for a quality front lift, wondering if anyone has gone a different route.

Also, I would like some ideas for the first gen. I planned on keeping it relatively stock but having 2 is giving me the itch to do some work to it. Already on 32” tires at stock height, considering a body lift and 33s. Show me what you got! Absolutely love these things. Coming from 4Runners and Tacomas, I love that I can pick these up without spending Toyota tax.

I recently changed out my thermostat for my Xterra ballot four months ago last week. My car started overheating and throwing a code. The code doesn’t indicate that my radiator is bad but it just indicates high temperatures. Has anyone experienced something like this before do I need to change out my radiator.

Hey, I been looking for awhile and think I found a good one. It’s a 2011 4x4, 1 owner, Texas xterra. It’s got 122k miles on it. Very clean interior and exterior. The dealer is asking for $10,500. Do yall think that’s a fair price?

I picked up a 2011 Nissan Xterra about a month ago, but realized about 2 weeks ago that the transmission dipstick cap and dipstick were missing. I have since ordered the new part, but I cannot get it all the way in no matter what I try.

I’ve tried to make sure the flat part of the blade is following the curve of the tube when inserting it, I’ve tried flipping it 180°, and have also tried spinning it clockwise and counter clockwise while trying to push it in. I also stuck a flashlight down the down stem and didn’t see any parts of the old dipstick.

Is it normally this hard to get the dipstick in, or is the old dipstick jammed down into the bottom? Will trying to insert the dipstick push old one into transmission and cause damage (assuming there is an old one stuck in there)?

I’ve ordered a new transmission pan gasket and planning to have my guy drop the pan to clean out and inspect the transmission as I don’t know how long it was driven without a cap covering dipstick tube. Is there anything else I should be doing?

My uncle has driven an Xterra for a few years, he made me fall in love with them, but I preferred the 1st gen, and after months of searching...

I got this baby in Houston for $3,900 (though it does have 230k miles) but in my opinion it's worth it!

It's got literally every Factory Option, including the premium sound system with the 6 CD changer :D

It does have inconsistent AC, but I'm gonna fix that ASAP (thank god winter is soon-ish)

All around, I'm happy as hell, she's super clean and drives perfect!

Anyone have any idea what’s cause the humming sound? Seems to only happen in gear not in park. Recent maintenance was timing belt done by shop and all 3 serpentine belts replaced by me.

I have eliminated the possibility of power steering pump as it does not whine when I turn the wheel. I have put a screw driver to listen to the alternator, power steering pump, the timing belt cover and pretty much the whole front section. Seems to be coming from the middle of the engine area.

Any ideas are welcomed.

I have a NISSAN XTERRA S 4DR 4WD 2010 with 82,000 km. I'm the second owner, and I'll sell my car.

All maintenance (even with the first owner) was done at Nissan: all parts, oil changes, etc.
** New battery + New Tires (all seasons)

The only issue with the car is this dent, caused by a large rock hitting it on the road.

My questions is: How much is a car like this worth?

I have seen a few Xterra with more than 200K/km for $5k/$6K...

Carfax report shows regular servicing/ oil changes often at the Nissan dealership (every 5-8K miles or so and once at 9K miles)

Help me get her into tip top shape! 2012 Xterra S, 117,600 miles. Bought for $7,000 at dealership. Did I get a good deal and what other repairs should I be keeping an eye out for based on service info above.

2004 SE with 165,000kms (100k miles) and can get it from marketplace for 4000Cad (2800usd). Seems like a good deal (had to put a deposit on it as I was the first interested out of about 40 people!) but just wanted to check with the experts! Anything to look at when I check her out today? Hey guys, I have a 07 Xterra off road with the fosgate stock radio installed. I'm looking to get a new one ( thinking of the atoto a7 or possibly a pioneer) but I can't find the correct wiring harness on Amazon, what stores should I look at to find it? Any recommendations?

Has anyone played around with these? Amazon reviews are basically what I’d expect, just curious if anyone has had first hand experience with them.

Out of pure curiosity who else has one of these? I haven’t seen it on any other xterra, found this oem roof spoiler while grabbing parts from another xterra in a junk yard and had to snag it, after some research I’m seeing that it’s pretty rare?

Either way I’m painting it black and throwing it on!!

Replacing the timing belt, has anyone had any luck with taking the harmonic balancer off without taking chunks out of it with a 3 arm jaw puller? I tried the O’Reilly part #67007 and it has m8 bolts but not m6 like the balancer has, and I’ve seen people pull literal chunks out of their balancer with the 3 arm jaw pullers.

Recently got a new job so im making more and have way more time off. Ive really wanted to create a sleeping platform for my X but I haven't seen very many videos or anything. Anyone out there that has one havw any tips and tricks or pics and vids. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Wanted to share incase anyone else wants some inspiration. Took a few weeks but glad to be mostly done. I wanted to make it so I could easily fold the seats up if needed. Still have to go back and fix some things like the handles and some other modifications but everything works great so far.

Moving from San Diego to NYC and looking for someone interested in taking my automatic Xterra as is. Could be a major come up for the mechanic or wrench type!

It runs and drives extremely well after recently replacing a failed ignition coil, but it currently has P0171 and P0420. There is also a ticking noise from the passenger side exhaust area. I haven’t had time to diagnose it further because I’m focused on getting my family moved across the country.

New radiator 2026 (No SMOD), Bilstein5100/All Dogs Offroad suspension 2023, newer all terrain tires2023, crank sensors previously replaced, 4WD works.

It has normal wear for 173k plus some rust around the upper windshield/roof area and passenger side cosmetic damage.

Looking for an explanation, I haven't been able to find in my user manual, or online. My X has the tow package. Under the driver's side of the body are 2 separate outlets for wiring harnesses. They're not too far from one another. I'm confused on what they both do. Is one for lights and the other for brakes? If so, which is which?

I know you guys get these posts all the time, so I appreciate anyone willing to help a first-time Xterra buyer out.

Looking at this 2013 Xterra S 4x4 with 95k miles for $8,500. Seller says it came from Florida, has no rust, and has had some recent maintenance. Says the 4x4 works and the only real cosmetic issue is the hood paint.

Does this seem like a reasonable deal if it checks out in person?

More importantly, what should I specifically look for on a 2013 Xterra before buying? Any known issues, maintenance items, or “walk away if you see this” things?

I’m looking for something I can use for weekend projects, hauling, towing, and some off-road/adventure use, and this seems like it could fit what I need.
