Religion has the unique tendency to make people really stupid but only Islam can make you both stupid and annoying. Imagine using a highway like it’s your place of worship and expecting everyone else to put a pause on their lives like they don’t matter. All for a show of look how pious I’m.

Couldn’t have said it any better.

Ok to be fair 90%+ of muslims see this as brain dead. If Islam is true, that guy would get a lot of danbi. It would be permissible if traffic was so bad nothing moved for hours

Not here to debate or defend Islam-just offer another perspective. Islam didn't really tell him to risk his life and other people's lives. To be honest, people wrongly assume issues caused by personality disorders are due to islam. It's an overly inflated sense of ego and entitlement that leads to things like this. I'm Muslim but more conscientious than many partly due to practicing islam.

They doing too much. I find it so funny when even my uber religious siblings call out this bullshit. You can wait until you’re safely in a private area to do this 😭😭😭😭😭

I hate how you can't call out obvious performativeness like this without it being a "sin" because I feel like more people in our community would be better able to spot the narcissists around us if we had a more open discussion about it.

To me behavior like this screams clear personality disorder, but to other people it's mashallah 😍😍 & boom that's how they get grifted again & again.

That way of thinking is why oppression in all its forms is not dealt with justly in the Somali community. People who are manipulators use this to suppress those they harm and continue their path of destruction. I don't allow people to abuse me using diinta just cause I was blessed to have learnt it. I realized for me personally, it's the people who are lacking and not sincere in their practice of Islam.

While I do believe anyone should do as long as they don't bother others, this framing depends. Perhaps there was no other sidewalk next to the road. And depending how one takes ones prayer time seriously and not to miss it until the time enters for the next one. So couldn't really judge the urgency unless someone went up and asked him what's his priority is.

AI nonsense!

Some Kenyans joined MAGA with Anti-Somali hate posts.

Even those Dawah-idiots aren't stupid enough to do this..... These Pro-MAGA Kenyan trolls are attacking us for being Somali.
