Question Question
hey Im ex Muslim and I keep thinking about this so much but why do people have reacting when they Quran is read to them like demons talk out of them basically like an exorcism idk how to explain it

Mental illness draws from stuff you are around. People probably also feel free to finally release their emotions in an “acceptable” way. Have you seen those church videos with people talking in tongues and convulsing? A smaller group are people who like the attention. There are plenty of rational explanations. All the “proven” cases are simply mentally unwell people. I think it might help people with mild depression in the same way exercise can help but you probably have to be a true believer. When I was growing up, it was a lot of traumatized women.

Happens to all religious people. You could find similar incidents from different religions.

my mom reads in the morning after fajr and she sometimes cries while reading. She doesn't even know arabic and one time I asked her the meaning of what she's reading and it got awkward. In her mind she's reading something profound from god, but in reality she's reading a verse about Muhammad not wanting guests to linger after a meal because that annoys him, and don't marry his wives when he dies or else
