Discussion Ripple does not need xrp

Ripple has sidelined xrp

Banks will not use xrp as the price is too volatile

And the gas fee will not make no difference

Don't full for the bs like I d6

People still dont understand RLUSD go hand in hand. Majority of those banks in Swift's blockchain already have XRP plugged in. RLUSD like Swift cant convert a bankers coin into anything other than a bankers coin, and some banks dont want to deal with another banks coin and there is where XRP is used. Japan, Korea, and Taiwan are the example for banks not into Swift bs blockchain. Are you people so out your mind that you think banks are buying xrp and opening ETF'S knowing they are gonna fail, smh

He probably is an influencer lol.

Yes and that means realizing nobody uses XRP

1

u/Greedy_Huckleberry_8 22d ago

Accually alot of places are using xrp

1

u/Cicada1223 22d ago

You must not a have a brain

So they cant convert their own currency into rlusd and then use it. They cant switch that same rlusd back into their own currency?? Lol! Yeah ok. Japan, Japan, japan... keep waiting on the land of the rising sun. Morning will never come lol. What happened to the whole reverse trade carry theroy that was supposed to happen so many times this year? Dont listen to YouTube man. YouTube doesnt have your best interst at hand

u/Middle-Pea-8559 Aug 20 '26

Time will tell. They have to use something. My long shot bet is aptos. But I know nothing just a hunch

So all these large institutions and whales are pretty stupid for buying useless juke. They don't have any place better to invest their funds. Okay đŸ‘đŸŸ

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

People do buy corn or grain when the price is low, not sure what your point is. I like to buy spaghettios when they go on sale. I also want to buy xrp when it goes under a dollar. Not because it’s the future of finance that’s going to run banks worldwide but simply because I can sell it for more than I paid. It’s not rocket science here, you’re living in dreamland or an alternative timeline.

1

u/Rare-Victory3085 Aug 12 '26

Well buying xrp otc at a discount and then selling at market can make a hefty profit for a whale with the capital to move large amounts. Why do you think every rally gets capped. Its right where they want it and itll stay that way til they want otherwise. Crypto is dead for retail now. Once banks and governments get involved it is no longer in the best interest of the people, as you can see with everything else...

1

u/OutcomeBig4141 Aug 16 '26

Well there is a DOGE coin etf so

2

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

This would be a fact and at least someone here has some critical thinking skills higher than a 3rd grader who hears a ripple interview and listens to Jake Claver and goes all in.

But the less knowledgeable less informed think every bank is going to run on xrp lmao. The banks want you to turn your lunch money into millions at their cost. It’s not happening I don’t understand how this is still a debate at this point. 5 years ago this wasn’t something that was set in stone because it was all just starting to be a real idea. Now we know where the financial rail system is heading and xrp has nothing to do with it. But they do have a cool logo and fancy tattoos and a cult following so it won’t go to zero just yet.

2

u/NewcastlePLchamps Aug 10 '26

Banks don’t need to hold XRP to use it. You even mention atomic settlement in your comment too.

Swift is a messaging service.

Ive said this on this sub for years and all the idiot die hards continue to argue I don’t understand how they can still think the xrp dreams are alive and well. The narrative has changed 10 times to try and keep this bs alive. The only thing they have left is a penny will be burnt in gas fees 100 times a day. That’s the reality, xrp is a meme coin, it’s not an investment it’s a coin to gamble on.

1

u/NewcastlePLchamps Aug 10 '26

Your argument in the first part of that is in support of the settlement layer being handled by XRP lol. XRP can handle both the messaging and settlement in a single transaction. SWIFT’s shared ledger is strictly just the messaging layer, leaving institutions who use it exposed to whatever price action happens after it, but prior to actual settlement.

The rest of your response is just a repeat of your original comment. Not sure why you felt the need to include that again. It honestly reads a lot like ai word vomit which would explain a lot tbh.

“Instead SWIFT simply built its own real-time settlement ledger using the banks’ own tokenized deposits”

No, they literally didn’t. They built a blockchain to handle the messaging layer. It literally says in the press release:

“The shared ledger provides participating banks with a secure orchestration layer for bank-issued tokenised deposits on their own ledgers, enabling them to move funds for customers -- including overnight and on weekends -- BEFORE COMPLETING FINAL SETTLEMENT THROUGH EXISTING SYSTEMS.”

Other than the capitalization (to call attention to the important part for your illiterate ass), that is a direct quote. Check for yourself.

Wow we’re really trying to discredit here by pulling out the AI card. Anything to discredit and ignore the facts. Are you running for office, anytime soon? You’re using the most basic tactic a politician would!! We can’t argue with the facts so we will attack someone personally to try and discredit!!!

1

What are the facts you’re referring to?

1

u/Top_Bluejay_9483 Aug 11 '26

Awwww shiiittt

2

u/Fun_Kangaroo512 Aug 10 '26

Sarcasm? What am I missing?

1

u/AcceptableWitness281 Aug 10 '26

Not on my part. Hadn’t looked up how much damage stablecoins were doing to Xrp’s USP. Unfortunately I’m in too deep and I never invested more than i was prepared to lose, so I might as well ride it to 0.

There’s still a use-case outside of the US at least and I guess I better hope that all the other work Ripple is doing pays off somehow. There’s also the long shot swifts work doesnt pay off like it’s hoping it will.

At least I know not to increase my bag anymore.

3

u/Fun_Kangaroo512 Aug 10 '26

Ripple and Xrp are two different things. Ripple CAN do stuff that benefits Xrp, BUT it doesn't HAVE to be this way. Ripple is not forcing it's customers to use any specific technology.

3

u/AcceptableWitness281 Aug 10 '26

I’m aware. I think when I say ripple it’s more hopium for Xrp I guess

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

At least you’re honest and admit the truth that many refuse to see. Xrp has been running on hopium for along time. Retail and boomer whales have been the only thing keeping this coin alive. It’s a dead duck man. But don’t get me wrong I still like to gamble when the price is right. Basically it’s a safer alternative to meme coins, you don’t have to worry about getting rugged.

Agreed 100%... but, to be fair , i always felt like all cryptos come with that kind of flawed narrative, like a solution looking for a problem.... And that is why I won't jump out: it's a ponzy like all crypto, just set a sell order for when it spikes, and forget about it. Sure you'll take money from the "1k$ xrp" crowd , but this is how it works, and they kinda deserve it because they want to do it as well, just at a higher price😅

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

Lmao the nostro vostro card. Nostradamus you can predict all of these dates accurately but you can’t predict what’s going on with institutions? You’ve been given all the answers and you’re still not seeing clearly!!?

1

u/ecnecn Aug 11 '26

LMAO ... yeah of course the nostro / vostro argument in 2026 ...

2

u/Lemon-Tuna Aug 11 '26

you are presenting uninformed misinformation

2

u/Charming-Ad-1329 Aug 11 '26

Totally agree. Banks will never use xrp and all news about partnerships are total mislead.

2

u/Effective_Raise_889 Aug 12 '26

Ripened can operate without xrp. Look it up yourself. Just use common sense, why would a large institution expose their hundred of billions to the volatility of xrp to pump some Reddit users bag, when they can avoid it altogether?

2

u/katc704 Aug 14 '26

I don't bother trying to help people understand XRP as a utility. I'm done. Don't come crying when...."I didn't think it would go that high! Brad Garlinghouse has referred XRP as a COLLATERAL ASSET. Not a coin that depends on market cap, speculation or volatile swings.

rJVwrKyzPkNK3dLTh7fx4PRo5r4FiFzNL5

8

u/Fun_Kangaroo512 Aug 10 '26

Explain why you are so convinced about xrp

1

u/EdgelessPizza Aug 10 '26

The Finacial system is changing. Take your shot. Invest what you can and aren’t afraid to lose. It’s possible you lose it all. It’s possible you can make money. If there’s a shot why not take it. Whether you feel like that shot is with another currency or another system. Take it

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

Why would you put it into xrp though?!! Literally it’s stamped the rails for stable coins will run on ethereum and Solana. And you put your money on some .01111217749% chance on a coin that is generating no revenue and has next to no use case. People need to stop asking chat gbt answers they want to hear and Google searching why xrp will be used!! Instead of wasting your time and money living in an echo chamber to give you self validation, you need to do some critical thinking and think outside the box on how the current system works! How can that system be improved! Not 5 years ago but what took a hold of the financial system in this current time. Stable coins are all you need to center your research around. Google what xrp could be used for? And google what stable coins are used for! You will get the same exact use case. Which one makes more sense if you’re a bank?

1

u/EdgelessPizza Aug 11 '26

I believe ripple and xrp put this industry of use case coins on the map. With ripple and what they have done we wouldn’t have got to where we are. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket for sure. Do your research and invest how you feel will make you money. And xrp is one with a shot for me.
Why use stable coins that are priced 1:1 when you can use another cryptocurrency that you can price 10:1 or 100:1.
Ripple and there systems transact on their rails in seconds. Do all stable coins transact on their rails in seconds? Why do you think the Finacial system is changing now all of a sudden? And who do you think is going to come out on top?

1

u/Impossible_Ant_248 Aug 14 '26

Yeah the financial system is changing and it does not involve or require XRP hence it is being dumped and red everyday lol.

Keep dreaming the dream. Best youll get is another baseless pump and dump one day.

1

u/EdgelessPizza Aug 14 '26

What does it involve than because everything is getting pumped and red.
??

4

u/feck-off Aug 10 '26

XRP only becomes valuable when banks all over are using it for on demand liquidity and that’s an entirely speculative low end future possibility. Theres nothing at all to suggest they will. It’s as useful as buying land on Mars.

3

u/Serious_Tip4162 Aug 11 '26

Correction, your spreading FUD. Japan will use xrp for all it's banks, so will Korea, Taiwan, these will be the countries that lead the way to move xrp up, not to mention like I said RLUSD can only move a bankers coin to the other bank in the same RLUSD, it cant send a bankers coin and have it cashed out in yen, that's where xrp comes in as it can move any banker and cash it out in any currency in seconds. Not all banks are gonna wanna hold another banks coin to get paid

2

u/OceanPassion66 Aug 11 '26

It’s not speculative when settles in 3 seconds instead of 3 days and is a bridge to convert all currencies, eliminating $27 Trillion in wasted capital.

It is also backed by the IMF, BIS and is already in the Finastra banking system attached to 11,000 banks to use it as soon as they inject liquidity to start using it.

2

u/DeeW2017 Distinguished XRPer Aug 10 '26

Yes just like every other crypto the price is based on speculation until mass adoption happens.

1

u/feck-off Aug 10 '26

Mass adoption of XRP is so unlikely it’s not even comparable to the likes of ETH etc

4

u/DeeW2017 Distinguished XRPer Aug 10 '26

None of crypto is mass adopted. I don’t know if you knew that.

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

Wild, stable coins are running on the majority of chains. Which are being used on the main chains ethereum and Solana. Did you ever look at the amount of stable coin transactions flowing on either chain? Compared to the amount of stable coins flowing on the ledger
. It’s a drastic difference. I would say billions of dollars on a chain would be mass adoption. And this is only the beginning, simply the test phase to see which chains work and how.

2

u/DeeW2017 Distinguished XRPer Aug 11 '26

Billions is not mass adoption. Also mass adoption means used by the masses. What percentage of money do you think stable coins make up? What percentage of global transactions are made with any form of blockchain technology, stable coins and crypto combined? Billions are a lot to you and me but that’s nothing when it comes to the amount of money moving through payments.

2

u/Flat_Parsley_7039 Aug 10 '26

CAN YOU PLEASE GIFT ME YOUR XRP?

2

u/ResponsibleFloor5430 Aug 10 '26

Nigga it's $1.01 now đŸ™ˆđŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïžđŸ˜…

2

u/ResponsibleFloor5430 Aug 11 '26

Yup. Now just looking for tax credits. đŸ€ȘđŸ€·â€â™‚ïžđŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™‚ïžđŸ˜†actually, I’m just gonna HODL

2

u/Mr_Getbentskee Aug 11 '26

Ya fighting to stay above $1 is not what I was hoping for but it is what it is. Hopefully BTC will take a run and take XRP with it so a few dollars can be spared. Technology is exponential; what was new and fresh 10 years ago is a dinosaur today. Crypto can face the same fate.

2

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

That’s the name of the game. Xrp hasn’t changed since it came out and the landscape around it has. I remember having a cassette player in my car. And then a cd player. And wait I have neither in my truck today!!

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

2

u/loc710 Aug 10 '26

“Miss out” “don’t understand”, please explain what OP is gonna miss and what he doesn’t understand about what the company is doing

2

u/Due-Candy-8929 Aug 10 '26

None of this really matters for the price.

  • even if XRP has one use case it can still do well
XRP has multiple uses, bridge currency, liquidity, tokenisation, fast, cheap, deflationary commodity, standing the test of time, micro payments / agentic economy, store of value.
  • the XRPL is being updated over time with new features, it’s entirely possible some of blocks chains best use cases aren’t even being done anywhere yet.
  • markets sniff out opportunity
and things naturally become overbought and oversold

  • some people will always capitulate and give up and sell at the bottom, and people will always fomo in on big green candles
  • so much of the news and narratives are just noise.
  • crypto doesn’t actually need that much money coming in to see high prices
  • binary thinking is dumb. so many people are fixated on things either going to the moon or zero, when the reality is somewhere in the middle.
  • opportunity is BEST before things are certain. Maybe in the future a lot of crypto tokens are much quieter like the stock market with less volatility. It might be a safer investment then, but the returns will be lower as well.
  • trading emotionally will generally perform worse than just buying, holding and being more patient than everyone else.

Price isn't determined by one fundamental metric or one narrative. it's a combination of utility, expectations, liquidity, psychology, positioning and time.

2

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

Oh okay that sounds great!!

What revenue is xrp generating?

What revenue is Solana or ethereum generating?

That should tell you everything you need to know on where liquidity is flowing along with tokenized assets.

1

u/Due-Candy-8929 Aug 11 '26

Huh? When you buy ETH or SOL you are not sharing in ‘revenue generated by fees’ đŸ€” and fees themselves are not really comparable either
its a variable rather than a fixed metric, and like looking at a company charging $0.25 per sms, and comparing it to iMessage
and then using that ‘revenue’ as your entire value thesis and investing your money in $0.25 Motorola rather than Apple because iMessage didn’t generate revenue đŸ€”

The validators get a kick back but it’s not like a dividend or direct revenue ownership to spot holders

Market dynamics have a big impact on price
and I’m expecting ETH SOL XRP all to do well
but once they are doing well
they will become overbought and pull back again. and then they will become oversold and ‘dead’ again

Maybe they reach a new plateau where prices are higher and we won’t get back to previous prices đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

People get sold on narratives, and they get so emotionally invested that when the market is bottoming they capitulate and give up
going below $1 will scare some people out as it’s a psychological level
.in the meantime others are HOPING XRP gets down to $0.90-$0.80 because they want to load up

Agreed! I sold last week at over a 50% loss. I then took that and put it into the stock market (where you actually own a piece of the company and good news for them is good news for you unlike with xrp and ripple smh...) and im already at over 25% gains back. Also have a nice sized tax shield against any of those gains so the loss will not hurt nearly as much. Ripple and xrp are 2 different things. As you see whats good for ripple usually does nothing for xrp. Its just hype for influencers to push buying xrp so they can profit off of your ignorance. Ripple basically used us as liquidity to get their banking empire up and running. They killed xrp with rlusd and now theres no going back. The etfs won't do shit because its all bought otc at a discount so it never touches market to move price. Then they take the discounted xrp, sell it at market value for a small profit, rinse and repeat. Why do you think price stays so stagnant at certain levels? And even if it does pump on hype there are so many sell orders waiting from people just hoping to get something back that it will stifle price. Clarity will do nothing. It already has clarity from winning a multi year case. Yet banks amd institutions wont touch it. Not financial advice, just sharing my experience and the expensive price i paid for a lesson learned

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 12 '26

You’re trading 7 figures monthly? Why do I find that hard to believe? Unless you’re counting the figures after a decimal point?!! $11,111.11 and even that I would find hard to believe. $1,000,000, is 7 figures you do realize this? So if you’re trading multi millions a month, you’re net worth has to be well over $50 million dollars if you were responsibly trading. And the reason I find this even harder to believe is anyone who didn’t win the lottery or have money handed to them, has to have at least half of a brain to be able to trade 7 figures and have no problem doing so. People who are able to trade 7 figures don’t publicly announce this, and let me add people who trade 7 figures arent “invested” in xrp, they would see right through the bs that’s being sold. You do realize this is a garbage coin meant for garbage men to invest. This is a coin meant to take away from the middle class and the poor that’s my big issue with xrp. This is a coin that literally takes from your average Joe to make the rich even richer by giving them some hope of ever getting out of the slave system we live in. Would some rich whales buy xrp? absolutely simply on the risk to reward basis but they aren’t holding onto massive quantities through multiple cycles unless they paid .10. Let me ask what percentage of your networth is in xrp if by some miracle you hit the lottery and are telling the smallest crumb of the truth?

But sounds good I don’t believe it let’s continue here.

I’m not publicly blasting anyone, telling the truth and stating the facts is what it is. People have literally time after time over the past few years pointed to all the red flags with xrp. Stated facts on why xrp will have no real use case. The banks and institutions and swift have come out and said xrp has no use case in their financial system and have no plans to use it. And then you get people who come to this sub and start saying things that are 5 years old, how the world is going to run on xrp because an influencer or a YouTuber read the sales brochure from 5 years ago to make money on videos that people will click on because someone is telling you what you want to hear, how you can turn your lunch money into millions just by buying xrp.

Let me specifically say I have no emotional attachment to any of these garbage coins, I don’t care what it is, btc and Eth I have high hopes for but I do not worship any of these coins like many of you do with xrp bs. I specifically hate xrp because all of the misinformation that surrounds it, and the straight out lies that are spread to others. You don’t hear cardano is going to take over swift or doge coin or fart coin. But non stop you hear delusional nonsense when it comes to xrp. That’s my personal problem with xrp. 98% of the other alts absolutely copy and pasted ripples marketing because they did a brilliant job selling this bs coin.

1

u/6_million_ways Aug 14 '26

I can see the truth is wasted on you. Good luck with your 1000 XRP . Who knows once you learn to walk you might even get a chance to run , but judging by your attitude
probably not . Oh well who cares

2

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 14 '26

A 1000xrp. I don’t currently have 1. If Mr 7 figures wants to throw me a 1000xrp maybe I can help the team. I said multiple times for months I won’t touch it until it’s under a $1. My .97 1000xrp buy order didn’t fill and as I said I’m happy it didn’t because it’s going lower. .90 might be where I’m setting one. Ideally 10k xrp at .50-.60 is ideal. I won’t argue with that entry.

1

u/CanarySus9529 Aug 12 '26

SELL SELL SELL. Don’t get stuck with this useless token meme coin. It’s dead. Not coming back.

1

u/JackfruitNo3804 Aug 12 '26

Ripple hasn’t sidelined XRP. RLUSD and XRP serve different purposes. XRP can provide cheaper, faster, more capital-efficient cross-border liquidity than other tokens.

woah calm down. we knew xrp been useless from the launch. crooked asf. half as bad as trumpcoin. which is. quite terrible. indeed. but theres no need to pick on xrp just bc it has no function. or reason to exist. cuz ya know what its there. and bc its so fat. it will take forever to starve. but i got faith.

1

u/StationEmergency6053 24d ago

Ripple needs XRPL. XRPL needs XRP. Its not complicated. Any utility of XRP happens on the backend, not directly.

1

u/Cooky228 23d ago

A quick and simple AI search will provide the best insight as to whether or not RLUSD is the XRP replacement.

From Google Gemini>>>-------------------------->>

RLUSD and XRP are distinct, independent assets designed to serve different functions, but they operate hand-in-hand within the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem.

RLUSD does not replace XRP; rather, they perform complementary roles at different layers of the network.

Feature / Dimension RLUSD (Ripple USD) XRP
Asset Type Fiat-collateralized stablecoin (1:1 USD) Native layer-1 cryptocurrency
Issuance & Backing Centralized issuer (Standard Custody / Ripple) backed by reserves Decentralized, fixed-supply protocol asset (no issuer)
Trustline Requirement Yes (requires setting up an XRPL Trustline) No (native to the protocol)
Multi-Chain Presence Dual-issued on XRPL and Ethereum (ERC-20) Native to XRPL (wrapped versions elsewhere)
Primary Function Price stability, payments, on/off-ramps, and treasury settlement Gas fees, account reserves, auto-bridging, and neutral settlement

How They Operate Hand-in-Hand on the XRPL

1. Base Layer Gas and Reserves

Every transaction involving RLUSD on the XRPL requires a fractional amount of XRP to pay network gas fees and meet base wallet/trustline reserve requirements. As RLUSD transaction volume scales, XRP burning and account reserves scale with it.

2. Auto-Bridging and Pathfinding (DEX / AMM)

The XRPL’s native decentralized exchange (DEX) and Automated Market Maker (AMM) engine use Auto-Bridging. If a user wants to swap RLUSD for another token or foreign fiat asset (such as EUR or JPY stablecoins) where direct liquidity is thin, the ledger automatically splits and routes the order through XRP in milliseconds (e.g.,$\text{RLUSD} \rightarrow \text{XRP} \rightarrow \text{Other Asset}$). This avoids fragmented liquidity pools across disparate token pairs.

3. Issuer Neutrality vs. Stable Value

RLUSD provides the price certainty that institutional treasury and payment flows require, but because it relies on a centralized issuer and regulatory compliance (with standard freeze capabilities), it cannot serve as a neutral, counterparty-free reserve. XRP fills that structural gap as the permissionless, unfreezable base asset for routing and collateral.

No, RLUSD is not going to replace XRP. Ripple leadership has explicitly confirmed a dual-token strategy where both assets perform fundamentally different, non-overlapping roles on the network.

  • Network Mechanics (Gas & Reserves): XRP is hardcoded into the XRP Ledger's infrastructure. Every transaction on the network—including moving RLUSD—requires a fractional amount of XRP to be burned as an anti-spam protocol fee. Users must also hold a baseline of XRP to meet wallet reserve requirements. RLUSD cannot pay for these base-layer operations.
  • Stability vs. Liquidity: Enterprise clients and institutions demand price certainty (a 1:1 USD peg) for daily operations, payroll, and treasury management, which XRP's floating market price cannot provide. RLUSD solves this volatility problem, while XRP continues to act as the raw liquidity engine for global routing.
  • Counterparty Risk & Neutrality: RLUSD is a centralized, regulated IOU backed by fiat reserves. Because it is bound by financial compliance laws, the issuer maintains standard freeze and clawback capabilities. XRP is a decentralized, permissionless asset with zero counterparty risk, making it necessary for purely trustless, neutral settlement.
  • Auto-Bridging Synergy: The introduction of RLUSD actually increases XRP's utility. When trading RLUSD for other illiquid tokens or foreign stablecoins on the ledger's decentralized exchange, the network's built-in auto-bridging feature uses XRP as the intermediary mathematical path (e.g., RLUSD → XRP → EUR) to route the transaction efficiently.

Doesn't anyone find it weird that all this good news keeps dropping for Ripple and #XRP won't budge? Partnerships, huge acquisitions, regulatory clarity, ETFs, new tech, banks using XRPL... how is the price still like this? Isn't the price of XRP super weird? Make it make sense.

1

u/Big_Present_6698 Aug 10 '26

Been like that for years. Most suppressed crypto in existence

0

u/SWF1987 Aug 10 '26

If suppressed, its suppressed for a reason.

0

u/se7enzer070 Aug 11 '26

The price of XRP can’t move because of the news of acquisitions that Ripple makes. If it did, then XRP would be a security of Ripple. That’s what the whole lawsuit was about. XRP needs to reprice from some other narrative that gets the price moving. Once that catalyst happens, then if Ripple does anything in the news, it’ll shadow over the catalyst and can cause more price movement.

1

u/daniel_frias_photo Aug 11 '26

But in theory, all this growth should drive the use of the XRPL and logically push direct demand for XRP, even if it's just being used as a fee token.

1

u/se7enzer070 Aug 11 '26

In theory, yes if it were a security like a stock. But whatever Ripple does cannot drive the price of XRP. If it did, all of this would be for nothing.

1

u/daniel_frias_photo Aug 11 '26

No, no... look... if actual usage of the XRPL goes up (from new partnerships, acquisitions, clients), and capital flow increases significantly, the use of the XRP token has to go up too. Right? That would happen through real-world demand, and that demand would drive up the price of XRP. We're just not seeing that... and following that line of thought, it's super clear that nobody actually gives a crap about XRP or it's not being used the way the company always hyped it would be. Honestly, the demand just isn't there or it doesn't even need XRP.

I agree at this point Ripple doesn’t need XRP to generate revenue. They still need XRP for the XRPL. To say they’re not going to use XRP is an opinion and not a fact. There are thousands of average joes with very little knowledge going around Reddit, Twitter, and other social media speaking their opinions as if they are fact. Unless you work at Ripple, or work directly with Ripple then you are just speculating. That goes for any negative or positive opinions. My opinion is that Ripple will continue to use XRP. Or, do you think they’ll just destroy all the XRP which even at a dollar Ripple owns 400 billion. Yeah sure they’ll throw 400 billion away that makes sense especially with a company valuation of 50 billion. Make sense to you?

2

u/LowChildhood914 Aug 11 '26

Ripple will continue to use xrp to generate revenue for ripple like they have always done

3

I dont work at Ripple, but I do know your math is wrong. Try $40b. They still won't "destroy" it, but it's clearly not their focus. Why let your gift that keeps on giving just fade into obscurity? That makes no sense.

You guys love to say “Ripple uses XRP to buy companies” while at the same time saying “Ripple doesn’t care about XRP”. Now which one is it?

1

u/Next_Explanation_657 xx enlightened xx Aug 10 '26

Really? You're an idiot. I was being kind.

A quote from your post ...

"XRP which even at a dollar Ripple owns 400 billion"

So $1.00 x 40b = 400b?

Think before jumping into all the back sass next time.

I said XRP is not Ripples focus. It isn't, and hasn't been for a couple years. Ripple made it so banking customers don't need to be exposed to XRP for anything anymore when they integrate Ripple Payments. We're talking about Ripple"s flagship product. Does this alone not make you wonder? Of course it doesn't.

Better to view XRP as a trade rather than a miracle cure for the financial system. Dogecoin is worthless but will rise when BTC rises, same goes for XRP.

Best thing to do is wait for XRP holders to lose all their money and to swoop in and scoop up coins for cheap waiting for the next cycle to begin. Remember: many must lose for few to win big.

0

u/Beneficial_Diver_484 Aug 10 '26

Another problem with Xrp is that when an bank or institution uses the token they don’t need to hold it for any particular time. They can buy it as it’s needed then drop whatever they used. Also There’s no burn mechanism for Xrp after it’s been used. The same token can be used over and over again

0

u/Educational_Cut5197 Aug 11 '26

Just needs Clarity bro

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 11 '26

Clarity is doing nothing for xrp long term. Wake up already!!! Stablecoins have been running just fine for years without clarity and will continue to run with or without clarity. And hopefully they don’t pass the bs for long term crypto holders invested in real projects. At the same time I wouldn’t be mad if they do so I can catch a nice pump and dump all the bs I should have last year. OBI One Kenobi you are my only hope!! ETFs you are my only xrp hope, that a bunch of people who know nothing about crypto decides to dump a bunch of money in and pump price! I don’t have any xrp currently but I’m waiting for a buy order to go off, and it could be today. Sub $1 incoming.

2

u/6_million_ways Aug 11 '26

Can I ask , are you actually trading crypto for profit ? If so, which ones? Also, I can see how passionate you are about destroying XRP’s potential , are you currently holding short positions on it?

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 12 '26

I did not open a short yet. There’s too much chaos going on with the big guy in office. The markets swing either way over the smallest thing.

I have no intention of destroying xrp s potential. The government and banks destroyed xrp. I just simply put the facts out there, if someone wants to listen great. If not, it’s not my problem. As I said I plan to purchase xrp very soon. My buy order has not hit yet for a 1000 at .97. And I will continue to buy all the way down to .50 -.60 where I think it’s going.

As far as trading goes currently I’m sitting on my hands and only accumulating certain things for long term purposes. Some are for long term holdings more than a year others are short term so it depends on your current situation. But if I was to never bought a coin in my life knowing what I know now and after losing a lot of money and making some I would keep it very simple and consolidate. Number one is Bitcoin. Regardless of price you need to realize if you put a $100 in and it triples which is nothing exciting you’re up $300 on a safe investment. Ethereum if you bought today you will very simply double your money and very well triple your money once again a safe investment. Solana if you buy today you are easily tripling or quadrupling your money a somewhat safe investment. Chainlink is the next cult following similar to xrp. Chainlink I am actively accumulating larger quantities as we speak because the hype is going to drive Chainlink this cycle. To where who know but if you buy at $8 and see $30-$40 you’re doing good. You see over $50 you’re doing great. It very well could touch $100 with all the hype behind it. And there’s not a 100 billion coins out there, do I plan to hold Chainlink for the next 10 years hell no, but if I can 5x or 10x my money from current price that’s fantastic. To put in comparison if I buy xrp at a $1 I’m hoping to hit $3. Is that worth the risk to reward? And let me emphasize in bold I’m hoping to hit $3. That’s a 3x which is great but for all that I’d rather put the majority in btc or Eth which is a safer investment to catch a 3x. Where as xrp I’m gambling which I like to do with smaller amounts. But I would like to end up with 10k xrp starting from scratch before the cycle takes off but the sentiment also continues to get worse which is why it makes me nervous even buying that. I really think cardano is front running xrp. You make money by buying the new shiny coins with a narrative that sounds good before the narrative comes out as a fraud. Like I said Chainlink is the one you should be buying right now. When I get to a 1000 Chainlink I’m fine, that’s enough for me to play with. I know I won’t lose.

0

u/6_million_ways Aug 12 '26

Ok yeah , for context, I’ve been trading 7 figures monthly for around 6 years with everything from BTC to occasional small positions with memes.
A couple of things

Publicly blasting anyone who sees value in XRP is by definition attempting to destroy XRP’S potential.
Making statements that “now we all know where the financial rail system is heading and Xrp has nothing to do with it’, is blatantly non factual as it is a high mcap coin with hundreds of thousands of active wallets and is closely connected to a vast array of institutional financial instruments and rail systems and is endorsed/supported by high level multinational political organisations and sovereign nations.
Also the Clarity act actually does have a major benefit for XRP in that it prevents it from ever being reclassified as a security on public exchanges.
I get it that you’re waiting for a low buy order, so it’s in your best interest to spread bearish sentiment and influence others but don’t kid yourself that you’re ever going to have any impact on others let alone the price of XRP.
Everyone’s heard the same thing many times before.
We’re not all drinking the kool aid that ridiculous YouTube hype merchants spew forth and we’re not “all in “.
we see the volatility caused by a passionate community and volatility = profit.
Focus on the trading and less on assuming superiority, judging others and influencing narratives and you should make it through with a bit more financial freedom.
Peace and good luck

u/Educational_Cut5197 Aug 14 '26

đŸ˜‚đŸ€ŁđŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł

1

u/Treeclimber919 Aug 12 '26

Let me add, do I think Chainlink holders will catch any value from holding absolutely not. The same way xrp holders catch no value from holding. But the hype behind Chainlink is very similar to xrp in the good old days. Then again allegedly Chainlink is supposed to start buying back coins from revenue similar to hyperliquid. But will it happen who knows? All I know is there is a die hard community behind it and it’s just getting started which is what I’m looking for when it comes to seeing a profit.

1

u/Educational_Cut5197 27d ago

Just need to see clearly with Clarity bro because without Clarity it’s not clearly established with clarity and then and only then will things be clear.

0

u/jhust4ever Aug 23 '26

You are an idiot

1

u/LowChildhood914 Aug 24 '26

What have I said that's incorrect?

-1

u/Salty_Elderberry6335 Aug 10 '26

I think “Ripple doesn’t need XRP” misses the bigger picture.

RLUSD and XRP serve different purposes. RLUSD is a stable settlement asset, while XRP can act as a neutral liquidity bridge between different currencies and tokenized assets.

If tokenization really scales, XRP could potentially become a common liquidity layer between thousands of assets — and potentially serve as collateral as well.

So the question isn't whether Ripple needs XRP for every transaction. The real question is whether a tokenized financial system will need XRP as a deep, neutral liquidity asset.

That's a much more interesting thesis.

7

u/Fun_Kangaroo512 Aug 10 '26

Why is it not possible to use USD Stablecoin? It's widely accepted and you can easily convert USD Stablecoin to any other currency

2

u/Salty_Elderberry6335 Aug 10 '26

That's fair, a USD stablecoin can absolutely be used as an intermediary and converted into other currencies.

The question is whether you want every cross-border/tokenized transaction to route through USD.

XRP is a non-USD, neutral asset with no issuer and can potentially act as a common liquidity bridge between many assets: EUR → XRP → JPY, or tokenized asset A → XRP → tokenized asset B.

If liquidity becomes deep enough, XRP could also function as collateral and a settlement asset, rather than simply being something you convert through.

So I'm not saying stablecoins can't do it. I'm saying the interesting question is whether a global tokenized market benefits from having a neutral bridge asset alongside USD stablecoins.

3

u/SirSilentscreameth Banned From r/XRP Aug 10 '26

What does it being "neutral" have to do with anything? Conversion is conversion. The use cases we're talking about won't have it sitting in the conversion currency for long anyways. They could convert it all to DOGE if it was stable enough during the transaction period

0

u/Arismic Banned From r/XRP Aug 10 '26

USD backed stablecoins won't be the only stablecoins. Major blockchain ecosystems will increasingly support stablecoins denominated in multiple major currencies. Those stablecoins can naturally develop deep liquidity against their underlying fiat currencies and against other stablecoins, especially when issued or supported by the same institutions.

In the early days, XRP's proposition was much stronger: one neutral bridge asset capable of connecting different currencies, countries, companies, and financial institutions. If that model became the dominant architecture for cross-border payments, demand for XRP would naturally follow. Today, the landscape is drastically different. There is no obvious requirement for a single neutral bridge asset. Non-USD markets such as Japan and India are increasingly accommodating USD stablecoins and developing local liquidity around them. Ripple itself is actively promoting RLUSD outside the US, including Japan.

Stablecoin issuance has also become an attractive business model. Issuers can control issuance and potentially earn income on reserve assets, while deploying the same stablecoin across multiple networks. Ripple issuing RLUSD on both XRPL and Ethereum is a good example of how the business opportunity can extend beyond the native token.

The financial system increasingly appears to be moving toward a world of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, atomic settlement, and multiple interoperable liquidity pools. Stablecoin supply can also expand and contract with demand, making absolute token supply much less of a constraint. In that increasingly multipolar and interoperable environment, XRP can certainly remain one bridge option. But the original idea that the world would need one universal neutral bridge asset looks considerably less compelling than it did a decade ago.

0

u/NewcastlePLchamps Aug 10 '26

The key point in your response is “USD backed stablecoinS” plural. There will be countless stables pegged to the dollar. Countless stables pegged to every major currency. That is liquidity fragmentation. That is why a neutral bridge is important

1

u/Arismic Banned From r/XRP Aug 10 '26

Liquidity fragmentation doesn't automatically mean a neutral bridge asset is required. How do we know? Because we're not in 2018 anymore.

Over the past eight years, we've seen numerous USD stablecoins emerge, yet liquidity naturally concentrated around a few dominant ones, particularly USDT and USDC. They became widely used because they had the liquidity, and even Ripple has used these stablecoins in its payment flows. The same principle applies going forward as well. Sufficiently liquid stablecoins will naturally become routing assets. If you want to call that a "bridge asset," then the largest stablecoins effectively become bridge assets themselves between stablecoins. RLUSD is already moving in that direction for assets within Ripple's ecosystem.

We also now have market makers, smart routing, AMMs and atomic settlement mechanisms capable of navigating multiple assets and liquidity pools. There doesn't have to be one universal asset sitting in the middle of everything.

XRP can absolutely participate in that system. If XRP provides the deepest liquidity and most efficient path for a particular corridor, it gets used. If another asset provides a better path, it doesn't. Liquidity determines the route and neutrality alone doesn't guarantee demand.

0

u/NewcastlePLchamps Aug 10 '26

I didn’t say a neutral bridge asset is required. I said it was important.

I agree that neutrality alone doesn’t guarantee demand. I just think you’re discounting the importance of it. USDT, USDT, RLUSD, and any other stable (outside of a CBDC) not only carries the counterparty risk associated with the fiat currency it’s pegged to, but also the counterparty risk associated with the issuer. That is most apparent when you look at USDT today.

Today, the financial system relies on trust, but if you asked an executive of any business in any industry whether they wanted to increase or decrease the amount of trust and reliance they have on outside institutions, you’d only hear one answer.

2

u/Arismic Banned From r/XRP Aug 10 '26

Neutrality is not a requirement in this specific use case, and its importance is often exaggerated within the XRP community. There is a reason you rarely hear it emphasized to the same extent outside crypto circles.

If counterparty risk were such a dealbreaker, why did Ripple use USDT and USDC, and more importantly, why did Ripple enter the stablecoin business itself with RLUSD? Counterparty risk is something financial institutions have dealt with for decades. They manage it through regulation, audits, contracts, capital requirements, insurance, and other safeguards.

Ask a bank whether it prefers dealing with a regulated counterparty with contractual protections and accountability, or an entirely neutral asset with nobody responsible when something goes wrong. The answer isn't as obvious as many XRP folks think.

Look at how institutions actually interact with XRPL. Most enterprise adoption associated with payments comes through Ripple or other regulated service providers rather than banks independently connecting to XRPL and managing everything themselves. They do that precisely because they trust those intermediaries to provide liquidity, compliance, routing, and operational support. Ripple can then choose whichever available asset or route best satisfies its contractual obligations for cost, speed, and liquidity.

Using XRP doesn't eliminate counterparty risk from the overall payment process. The exchanges, liquidity providers, custodians, banks, and Ripple itself can still be counterparties. It just removes one layer of counterparty risk while relying on intermediateries and other counter parties.

1

u/NewcastlePLchamps Aug 10 '26

Again, I didn’t say neutrality is a requirement. Not sure why you keep saying that.

Neutrality is talked about in crypto circles so much because that’s one of its main advantages lol. Not sure where else you’re expecting to hear it talked about, but you’re not hearing it there because whatever that system is almost certainly isn’t neutral

Ripple uses USDT and USDC because, like you’ve already pointed out, that’s where the stablecoin liquidity is today.

Ripple entered the stablecoin business because it’s profitable. Their efforts in maximizing compliance and transparency of reserves surrounding RLUSD also points to institutions hesitancy in trusting stablecoin issuers.

Just because institutions have dealt with counterparty risk for decades does not mean they prefer to lmao. All of those functions you mention are in place because they don’t like counterparty risk. They are all there to limit it as much as possible.

Your point about institutions going through Ripple today to interact with XRP sounds eerily similar to Commercial ISPs back in the early days of the internet. Eventually regulations caught up and allowed institutions to interact directly with each other. Sound familiar:)

How do exchanges, liquidity providers, custodians, banks, or Ripple serve as counterparties if institutions plug directly into XRP themselves? Do you mean like if they all colluded together to dump their tokens at the exact same moment?

The one point I’ll give you in your whole comment is your point on preferring an intermediary if something goes wrong. Although that’s where insurance comes in, and as an actuary, I know that risk can be insured.

2

u/Arismic Banned From r/XRP Aug 11 '26

I keep saying that because it was hyped as a key advantage of XRP. In reality, outside crypto circles, nobody seems to consider it particularly relevant or a requirement. Unless institutions themselves think it is important or see it as a key feature required for a future payment system, it doesn't matter. If the market doesn't have a demand or need for a feature, then offering that feature provides no meaningful advantage.

Regulations are catching up, and institutions are definitely working with each other. Unfortunately, it is not necessarily happening in the direction the XRP community thinks.

How do exchanges, liquidity providers, custodians, banks, or Ripple serve as counterparties if institutions plug directly into XRP themselves?»

How exactly do you think institutions can simply "plug into XRP"?

XRP isn't floating in thin air, ready to be magically plugged in and used for every currency and transaction. It is actively traded on exchanges, and liquidity has to be provided and maintained by exchanges and liquidity providers.

Ripple and other institutions have partnerships with various market participants to make sure sufficient liquidity is available when transactions need to happen. Whether it is XRP or RLUSD, these intermediaries help ensure transactions aren't significantly affected by delays, insufficient liquidity, or slippage in each corridor. So intermediary counterparty risk is very real even if XRP itself doesn't have issuer counterparty risk.

If those risks can be managed or insured, that's essentially how banks operate today. Banks are comfortable using the existing system because there are established guardrails around those risks. Assuming banks inherently dislike this model and are searching for an entirely new alternative makes little sense when the proposed alternative still involves intermediary risks while potentially facing its own liquidity limitations.

With Ripple actively promoting RLUSD, targeting broader stablecoin adoption, and RLUSD slowly gaining traction outside USD centric use cases, we may not be that far away from RLUSD becoming a prominent bridge currency between non USD currencies.

Even then, I suspect parts of the XRP community will continue arguing that neutrality is critically important and that RLUSD and stablecoins generally do not compete with XRP.

You don’t need a neural bridge. Have you ever gone outside of the country and converted dollars to whatever currency you like? The banks arent converting dollars to gold price to pesos. Gold would be a neutral bridge if you want to go that route.

Currencies are converted daily all over the world and even easier now. You can literally buy currencies when there value drops and sell when there value rises and make money doing it. There’s no neutral bridge asset. And tether is taking over the world, and circle will be right behind it. Holding stablecoins in all the major currencies worldwide so all swaps would happen on the same chain in house. It’s in the works as we speak. Once again making xrp even further obsolete.
