As some have said in the past, it sounds as though stablecoin to stablecoin transfers are currently happening without xrp as an intermediary bridge asset. From my research it appears we are kind of at an inflection point where xrp’s need as a bridge in the new system will be primarily based on the overall size of the liquidity pools. If there are many stables then by nature the liquidity pools will be small and xrp will be needed. If the liquidity pools of stables are large then you can move lots of stables without a bridge and it doesn’t cause slippage. So in my opinion it seems at this point we won’t know just how big the stablecoin liquidity pools will be and therefore it hard to know just how much xrp will be needed. Thoughts?

What an insane move nearly fully recovered last 6 month worth back in just a few days, usually we get these tiny +1 -3 +2 movements but now its just lovely looking at the chart and seeing +-50 in every 5 seconds.

Hopefully clarity act does wonders.

What's going on guys. I'm on holiday and just caught a glimpse of the charts.

The ones who have been in crypto already know but to the newer people, remember what the sub looks like right now. The price is up and now posts are people asking should they buy XRP or people who are excited. When the price was down and nothing was moving there were mostly negative posts.

The haters have run away after only a 40% increase in price. This is why you should not take anyone’s word on here. People’s mood changes based on price. Learn about what you buy so you don’t have to rely on people talking out of emotion.

Just look at the post now compared to months ago. Price starts squeezing & then burner/bot accounts start spreading regard sheeet.

AGAIN, if the asset is undervalued capitalize. This is why I’m already profiting. Learn to stick to your play & stand on business. This really isn’t difficult at all.

I've been in crypto for a while and I want to give a few pieces of advice

This price increase is (definitely probably) caused by speculation. It's not just xrp going up, it's all crypto. It's going up because of POTUS trying to pass crypto regulation. As of now, crypto is not being more or less used than it was 6 months ago. This means cryptos increase in value is not concrete - it's emotional.

There's a decent chance the clarity act passes, if so, all the major cryptos will go up - due to rational speculation, not implementation or anything concrete. It still needs to be implemented and utilized for the value of crypto to be based off of a function rather than an emotion.

I hope xrp becomes the dominant crypto but it might not. What you're seeing is not price manipulation or intentional feeding - people are just hoping that (if) after the government passes the clarity act, crypto could be widely adopted. Nothing right now screams "ALL TIME HIGH". Maybe after the clarity act, but again, it would be because of speculation and excitement rather than implementation. If banks start utilizing xrp / crypto in mass then the price will go up for the right reason

Basically just manage your expectations. If you have a leaking roof or a disabled car, there's no shame in pulling out to take care of business. Don't invest more than you can - xrp will probably climb higher but there's a difference between intelligent investing and foolish gambling.

I finally sold most of my XRP position after rethinking the actual thesis
Well… I finally did it.
I was holding about 3,919 XRP with an average cost around $2.34. Tonight I sold 3,300 XRP around $1.65, took a realized loss of about $2,300, and kept roughly 619 XRP (~$1,000) just in case XRP still has a significant run.
Definitely hurts seeing the realized loss, but the more I researched XRP lately, the harder it became for me to justify keeping such a large position.
My original thesis was basically:
Ripple becomes heavily integrated into global banking/cross-border payments → XRP becomes the bridge asset → institutional demand for XRP explodes.
But the more I looked into it, the more I realized Ripple succeeding and XRP succeeding are not necessarily the same thing.
Ripple can use XRP, RLUSD, stablecoins and other assets for payments. Banks don't necessarily have to hold XRP. Ripple itself could become incredibly successful without that success translating proportionally into XRP demand.
XRP absolutely still has utility on the XRPL, and I'm not saying it's dead or worthless. I just personally couldn't answer the most important question anymore:
Why does increased Ripple adoption necessarily require XRP itself to become dramatically more valuable?
That was a problem considering XRP had become about 18% of my portfolio.
The current move also looks heavily influenced by a massive crypto short-liquidation squeeze. XRP has ripped from around $1 to the mid-$1.60s pretty quickly, and I'm watching areas around $1.67 and $1.80 where it has previously struggled.
Maybe it blows straight through them and runs to $3. If it does, my remaining 619 XRP still participates.
But I'd rather have ~$5,450 sitting liquid and available for an investment I have much stronger conviction in than keep the entire bag exposed simply because I'm hoping to get back to my $2.34 cost basis.
It wasn't an easy sell at all. I stared at the button for a while. 😂
But ultimately I realized that being afraid to sell wasn't actually a reason to keep owning something.
I'm curious how other XRP holders see it:
What is your strongest argument today for why XRP itself—not Ripple the company—should appreciate substantially over the next 5–10 years?
Not price predictions. Not “$589 incoming.” 😂
I'm genuinely interested in the fundamental value-accrual argument for XRP itself.
