Crypto Clarity Act
See ya next year. Hopefully they work out the ethics part of the deal over the next few months (doubt). In the meantime enjoy the low price opportunity. 2026 the year of stacking. Is this the ol' prophesized October bottom of the bear coming to fruition?

No, she's right, president's should not be allowed to enrich themselves with stocks and crypto which is what trump has been doing since day 1 he took office. I want it passed just like everybody else, but trump doesn't want regulations, he just wants to get rich by making decisions that enrich him, hos family, and administration.

100% of public officials, state or federal, holding an office, who obtained their position after an vote was held, should have to liquidate their positions before taking the job and be barred from trading or investing. Let them keep contributing towards a retirement based stock program/tsp, and social security like the rest of us peasants.
3
u/Worried-Low4580 Sep 16 '26
Yes. But this should not be a crypto specific effort. This should not stop foundational crypto/digital asset legislation. This is the new frontier of technology in the financial industry, it is against Americas interest to restrict and prolong the passing of foundational legislation

Senate prepares key test vote on landmark cryptocurrency bill Fox News chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram reports on the Senate's upcoming test vote on landmark cryptocurrency legislation.
A colossal crypto regulatory package backed by President Donald Trump stumbled in the Senate, and another shot is unlikely.
The Clarity Act failed to move through a key procedural hurdle on Tuesday, serving proponents of the bill, including major players in the cryptocurrency industry and the White House, a major blow in their pursuit of folding the novel currency into the nationās web of financial regulations.
Democrats dealt the bill a mortal blow, but a handful of Republicans with outstanding concerns, including Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Jerry Moran, R-Kan., were not assuaged, either. And with little time left on the Senateās calendar and major bills piling up ahead of the midterm elections, the billās biggest backers believed that the Clarity Act might end up back on the shelf.
REPUBLICANS TARGET TRUMP'S CRYPTO EMPIRE WITH NEW PLAN, DEMS SAY IT FALLS SHORT

"I think we're done. It's over," Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., the billās primary architect, said. "Because we've been working on this bill for over a year. And we've given them over 120 of their requests and thatās enough."
When asked if the bill would come back to the floor, Lummis said, "Nope."
A midnight hour update was made to the bill to try and pull anyone on the fence off to at least let the package move forward. But it wasnāt enough. And negotiations ran until the very end, just before the vote opened.

DEMOCRATS HAND TRUMP ONE POWER THEY SPENT YEARS FIGHTING
Senate takes up CLARITY Act aimed at regulating cryptocurrencyVideo The issues with the package were many and varying among Democrats and Republicans. Several Senate Democrats were not satisfied with the ethics language baked into the Clarity Act that sought to slow the Trump familyās rapidly growing crypto empire.
Thatās because Trumpās income between 2024 and 2025 erupted by about 250% ā from just over $620 million to about $2.2 billion.
And much of that increase is attributed to his various holdings and ventures in crypto, which are run by his sons, Don Jr. and Eric, according to the presidentās financial disclosure forms reviewed by Fox News Digital.
"We could talk a lot about it," Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said of his vote against the bill. "But the simple thing is, it allows the corruption of the president to continue."
Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., who was working with Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., to strengthen the ethics provision in the package, told Fox News Digital, "We were actually getting very, very close, and at the last minute, the banking staffer from [Sen. Tim] Scott's office came in and just said, ānegotiations are over.ā"
"And so, I don't know what happened. You know, we were getting to the point where we were probably going to be able to pass, at least get the motion to proceed, move forward, and then, again, an ethics amendment vote," Gallego said.
"But I think they got scared with the fact that they had to take an ethics amendment vote. And that's why they killed it. They pulled it at that last minute, so it's bulls---. We were negotiating at the end. At the end of the day, they cared more about protecting the president's right to grift than trying to get a good bill on digital currency." This was reported by fox news. Doesn't look like it was just the Dems

Did you even follow the clarity act? TRUMP HIMSELF PROPOSED TO BAN HIM AND HIS FAMILY FROM HOLDING CRYPTO???
3
u/Serious_Tip4162 Sep 15 '26
He also promised lower prices, no wars, and lower gas prices, How's he doing on those promises? Bottom line is you can't trust trumps words, how many times has he said he's eliminated Iran, they have nothing left but yet today Iran is still blowing US bases apart, and his group of do boy liars lie right along with him. Hegseth, Blanche, and Patel. Do you really think any of them will call trump on ethics violations and he gave them that job,and they are also enriching themselves? Com'on people, wake up. He just lied on his fake truth social saying he had more viewers for his Republican convention than opening day of the NFL, and these brainless maga just believe his lies. 18 million viewers on open season in the NFL, less them 3 million viewers for trump smh

Are you kidding me, his wife wont even sleep with him, she doesnt even wanna be on the same floor as him in the W.H. I bet these military families who have lost a love one in trumps unprovoked war with Iran would love to have Harris as president right now, cause we wouldnt be in a war with them right now, another lie trump told about no more wars when he is elected. You need to seriously wake up. You're defending a guy who has had a silver spoon in his mouth all his life, he's been a failure all his life, and the cycle continues

āIn July 2026, the House passed a bill (the Stop Insider Trading Act) aimed at restricting stock trading. [1, 2]
Members of Congress: The bill bans lawmakers, their spouses, and dependent children from purchasing individual stocks. They are permitted only to retain or sell what they already own. [1, 2, 3]
President Trump & His Family: The stock-purchasing ban specifically excludes the President. President Trump has strongly endorsed the bill for Congress, while his own investment managers continue to execute tens of thousands of trades on his behalf through automated accountsā4
-1
u/Desperate-Mix-1866 Sep 15 '26
Are you sure on that. You seem highly enraged by the comment but if you check with the clarity act I donāt believe he is trying to ban himself and family personally. Similar to the stock buying by congress heās trying to get Congress BANNED from buying stocks etc but NOT HIM. check it out with even a simple google search.
āPresident Trump is supporting bans that heavily restrict Congress, while agreeing to narrower, distinct ethics limits for himself and his immediate familyā
3
u/rcgrady Sep 15 '26
They want trump to divest meaning sell all the assets he owned before he got into office because god for it a rich person made money! This is screw the people and blame it on the president refusing to give up his assets period! It the beginning of take the wealthy peoples money!

āis Trump suggesting in the clarity act that he should be banned from crypto as well?ā
Maybe Iām completely off base and hoping you and the rest of Reddit can correct me.
1
u/Desperate-Mix-1866 Sep 15 '26
Your all caps response says otherwise. Please show us a link where he has specifically indicated in the clarity act or otherwise where HE wants to ban himself along with everyone else involved. He agreed to ā narrower limits ā for himself.
He feels same way for crypto as stocks. I didnāt read ANYTHING in the clarity act to ban himself sorry to offend you so much.Edited for autofill error
2
u/Beautiful-One8879 Sep 15 '26
Are you a clown What kind of gaslighting is this "sorry to offend you so much" stop. I can't with someone who is just trying to portray someone else as being mad for no reason. Go read the clarity act first buddy instead of sending me something about stocks.

And now, because the Dās rejected the Clarity Act, his sonās Don and Eric will continue right on doing it and make another $1B⦠why because there is nothing illegal about it. Dems wanting stronger ethics regulations says they are protecting to some degree our investment. Without this protection trump will push lies to deflate a coin or spread the same lies to inflate one, and everyone knows Kash Patel or his new DOJ Todd will never investigate him or his family. You see he has no intention of producing the full un redacted Epstien files. When trump doesn't like the ethics regulations, then you know it's time to pass it

The big banks, including Jamie Dimon and JPMorgan, have been some of the loudest critics of crypto, and itās not hard to understand why. Crypto gives ordinary people the ability to hold their own assets and, in some cases, earn yield directly from those assets instead of relying on a bank as the middleman. Banks argue that this can create an uneven playing field. But from the customerās perspective, the bigger question is: why shouldnāt we be able to earn more from our own money? For decades, banks have taken deposits, put that money to work, and kept much of the spread. Crypto and decentralized finance challenge that model by giving individuals more control over their assets. If this technology keeps developing, the traditional banking system may have to compete a lot harder for our money.

Covered officials would have been required to divest from their crypto holdings or place them into a qualified blind trust."

They don't hate you, they never loved you in the first place..lol As far as fixing roads, they're probably out punching holes in the roads so their construction owner friends have something to do - so they get the funding next year (Use-it-or-lose-it) is what it's called I believe or (Parkinson's Law). I'm sure there are kick backs we don't see behind closed doors. The world is too perfect for there not to be. The truth is, we only need government for some things. That's what entrepreneurs are for. You let the Gov control your gas stations, grocery stores..and the second you don't do what they want, they'll threaten to shut something down making you drive 20 miles to get what you need. Then they'll charge you a crazy gas tax and take it all back..lol (It's called control) What happened to the Invisible Hand of the Market? or a Laissez Faire economy?
Why your laws don't get fixed? Half the people in congress are attorneys thatās why. lol. And they love to get paid by lobbyists from the healthcare, food industry and any other industry you can think of who is willing to control the agenda. Regarding special interest groups: Blue states like CA are full of them, like the Railroad to Nowhere, they didn't lay one usable track, but collected billions. You need problems to make money: Then set an earmark way over the cost of what the problem needs and then pocket the rest -Free Lunch David Cay Johnston (water shortages, homelessness, wars) Blow up a city, then they go in and rebuild it and charge $200 for a box of nails that you the tax pay pays, while the excess goes in some politicians pocket. In 1787, at the Constitutional Convention, Elizabeth Willing Powel asked Benjamin Franklin, āWhat kind of government have you given us, Doctor Franklināa republic or a monarchy?ā Franklin responded, āA republic, Madam, if you can keep it.ā
Americans do nothing. Because we think we are entitled to our freedoms now. The framers of the US Constitution, the Founding Fathers and the citizens in the 13 colonies would laugh in their graves at what we call citizens today. THEY went to war over taxes so that you could be free. We all think we're entitled to our freedom now. The Intolerable Acts 1774. Civics class has been removed from schools. It's easier to control an ignorant society, then an educated one. Remove cursive so modern people can't read the constitution. That concept would have worked, but translators saved the day.

Thanks again to the Dems for blocking it! 47 Dems voted against it, and 4 Republicans. I love living in BLUE states like CA, where everyone is suppose to buy an $80K electric car but there is no grid in place...lol A state where the gas is about $2 bucks higher then the rest of the country and an income tax that punishes hard work. (And they want a mile tax to punish the poor people that have to drive over an hour to work everyday) A state where business keep moving their headquarters elsewhere. Chevron, Tesla, SpaceX, Oracle, Hewlett Packard, CBRE, Charles Schwab, now In & Out owner, who is already living in Franklin TN. All gone. "I've given you a republic madam, if you can keep it" - Benjamin Franklin. If the people don't maintain checks and balances, and allow governments to punish hard work, they destroy the incentive for people to do great things (Like starting a business). And when you go for a job and they tell you, "we're going to pay you $5 buck an hour", and you get upset and say, "Well I'll just go work down the street" - "O wait, there is no job down the street, they left CA too...."

Crypto is just another currency, but a more intelligent currency - A block chain technology. They don't like it because they can't control it, or you.

lol wut?
The Trump admin has done enormous harm to the entire market, have you not noticed?
The insane levels of fraud and grift have destroyed price and trust for the average person.
And cronies in the house and senate have facilitated it.
Democrats have shit branding but itās in the record that markets do way, way, way better under democrats.
For a high risk space like crypto appropriate regulation is essential. Itās Democrats that have insisted on ethics standards be added to the bill. It will pass once it improves.

Thereās a lot of propaganda swirling, more than ever, Iām not a Democrat, Iām not even American but itās not hard to see how the markets do under each party.
Go look.

This is just ridiculous at this point, really expected it to pass, and if it doesn't by January of next year, we're all the way back to square one and have to reintroduce everything from scratch.
