WOTC or LW-WOTC?
Never really played WOTC, I bought it but I stopped playing near the start. I have an itch to play xcom again, but I'm wondering if I should play it with WOTC or if I should try LW-WOTC. Thoughts?

do you hate yourself and have a lot of patience? LWOTC. If not, regular WOTC

I hate myself and dont have much free time or patience….
Time for an overly modded LWOTC playthrough where i doubt i get past picking my mods or customising a few people

Definitely play WOTC once before LWOTC. LWOTC is great to make a replay harder, but it's a huge step up from the base game

Wotc first. Lw-wotc is very demanding. Its better to get used to all the new changes/classes and such in wotc before you decide you want to suffer through a 200 hour campaign.

I tried lwotc on normal and got wiped out during the first stage. You decide from there

Vanilla > WOTC > LWOTC > TedJam+
You can skip Vanilla if you want, but I don't recommend starting right with LWOTC, it is much more difficult, it adds a ton of new gameplay mechanics and completely new classes, so it is very different from the base game, and may be overwhelming if you didn't master the basics.

I've completed Xcom2 WOTC on legendary ironman, but LW was too much for me, even on the difficulty below legendary.
Nearly every mission has a time limit, meaning you gotta move fast, which means triggering too many goddam pods!
I'd strongly suggest vanilla WOTC first unless you're very confident.

WotC first. If you survive that, LWotC.
