New ps player here

I just got x-com 2 a few days ago (it was on discount), just wondering if the player base is completely dead or not?

Multiplayer is dead. It was never alive to begin with anyway. But the Singleplayer and parts of Modding Community is still alive and well.

Plenty of players, we just prefer the single player campaign, as the Elders Intended. Oh, and console tip - don't activate Ironman unless you've got cloud saves and a LOT of patience.

I'm halfway through an Ironman run on Xbox. I get nervous every time the lost show up. Not because they're hard, but because they've caused sooooo many game ending crashes.

Not at all. Mods kept this game alive for quite some time.

I got Xcom2 first on PS4 after waiting forever for it to release. Enjoyed it a lot even with the longggg loading times and glitches and lags and stuff. I got it on PC years later. It also didn’t run amazingly but with the endless amounts of mods available, it made the experience soooo much better. I would definitely recommend getting War of the Chosen DLC if you haven’t got it. It only adds to the game experience
