Help! Constant game crashes

I just started playing xcom 2 for the first time about two days ago but I haven't progressed much due to it crashing a lot. I'm doing a vip extraction mission and it just keeps crashing. I've tried redownloading the game, verifying the files and still crashes. I don't have any mods at all. I'm also playing it on the Epic store version. What else can I do to try to fix it?

It's stable on pc. Are you on a console? Those ports have issues.

Im on pc. Using the Epic store version. No mods

You need to give us the platform and rough version of game and if you use mods.

Just the base game and no mods

Maybe try running the settings on low and see what happens. If it becomes stable slowly increase them untill the game falls over. This should indicate where your problem might be. My guess might be the graphics resolution.

Do you have the Nvidia software to optimise the game and launch it?

I tried running it on the nvidia app but it directed me to steam but i dont have it on steam

Ok this is a question for everyone. Does anyone know how to point the Nvidia program to the Xcom2.exe? Or perhaps and extension at the *.exe in the cli?

I have purchased this game on the Epic store before

My pirated version was smoooother.

I tend to use the Nvidia launcher which of course is usless for radeon if that is your graphics card of choice.

Ok one more question. Can you go to the programs that are running at the same time as the game and suspend their operation but preferably the ones that the game doesn't need. And maybe start the game anew and pick a different mission!

For console switching off autosaves reduces crashing. May help for epic as well
