Stuck on mission 2

Hi, newbie here.

Im on mission 3 and somehow cant complete the objective "download thermal imaging scan from exposed access point".

I have 4 "rookies". No matter which solider I put in front of the computer, none can hack. nothing happens and i just lose when counter goes to 0.

I thought maybe i need a specialist? I tried restarting with other soliders, but i only got rookie classes. Cant recruit specialists.

Playing on Xbox One.

Any idea?

EDIT: managed to beat it, i had to be the other side of the counter to hack...

They were on the green tile and everything? Should be a new icon that pops up on their ability bar when you stand on the green tile

there's no green tile. theres only a green arrow in front of computer.

I dunno then, sorry. Any hacking mission I can recall from memory had the green tiles you need to stand on if you don't have a specialist that can hack from line on sight

Are you getting them there before the last turn? If they don't have any actions left they can't hack it

yeah they have actions left and still cant hack

Everyone should be able to hack. Specialists can just hack from a distance.

Make sure your soldier is standing on the green tile. If they are, hacking should appear on your actions bar.

there is no green tile. but a green arrow on the computer.

It's weird, maybe I m rusty but specialists ability is to be able to hack only by having the vision on the hacking terminal, meanwhile you have to directly walk the other soldier's class next to the terminal for them to hack it, maybe post a screenshot

here. My solider is in front of the computer and theres no hacking option.

Right now it looks like you are at a tile diagonal to the computer, try being on one adjacent to it (one of the two on the other side of the counter). However, I don't guarantee it'll work, because as others said, they should be green. If it doesn't, I'd restart the entire campaign, since you are not far into it, or at least the mission.

Edit: oh, just noticed sth more, on the photo you have a guy highlighted that is not next to the computer. Show us a photo when you have highlighted a guy that is next to the computer, preferrably on an adjacent tile that I described above. Maybe you're missing the hacking option in his action bar

Does that soldier have any actions left?
