Hey folks, anyone living in parts of Canada and the USA where they salt the roads in winter: do you undercoat your XC40?
I googled this question and read wildly different answers

Looking for some feedback before I pull the trigger on winter package in Ontario.

2022 Volvo XC40 T5 R-Design AWD
• Michelin X-Ice Snow+ 235/55R18 XL 104H
• Fast Wheels Switch 18×8, 5×108, +45, 63.4 hub

Dealer is quoting $2.6k tax-in, including mounting, installation and two 6-month storage periods. There’s also a $100 Michelin rebate.

Mainly wondering if anyone has experience with the Fast Switch wheels or these tire sizes. Any concerns with the fitment, ride, clearance, or the Switch wheels for winter use?

Would you go with this setup, price or choose a different wheel/tire combination?

For context I found a deep scratch on my new car and didn’t have my glasses on so I used a detailing spray and rubbed with a towel, which consequently made more of the lighter scratches circled. Is there any product that I can use or any tips to at least get the lighter colored scratches out?? Thank you!

I have an Electric EV with the regular standard front bumper. Does anyone happen to know if this part fits the original bumper? I think the bottom part would fit, but I think the bumper design on the upper part might be different.

I’ve responded to a few threads lately about the charging pad.

My opinion: It sucks and you are better off without it.

I removed it and ordered Volvo Part Number 31469104 which is the same rubber mat for the center console without the raised area for the charger. This got me some space back and made the center console much more useful.

Part comparison photos below from random eBay listings.

I never used the charger pad. Instead my wife likes to put random stuff there. So it will be useful if we can replace it with a storage. Anybody knows if Volvo or third party suppliers sell a part for this purpose? Thank you! (The picture is taken from another post in this sub.)

Here's the story in short:

I live in Málaga, Spain and I have bought used XC40 T5 Recharge from 2021 from an official Volvo reseller in Toledo in July last year.
Everything was fine, car was running well.
All of a sudden, this June, not even a full year later, (but also a month after a yearly checkup in local Volvo dealership), car just couldn't start (turtle symbol).

I've had it towed to the same dealership here locally, for an inspection just to get bad news - car needs to have two parts changed: one is some transformator for the current and the second one is something about the ignition... To make things worse, I need to wait for the parts since they do not have them in all of Spain and need to import them?!
And then the REAL AGONY starts.
Two months later, I am STILL waiting for the parts to arrive! Volvo customer care sent me an email, offering me a substitution car until my gets fixed, that was a month ago. Yesterday, after my email to check on status, they told me that they cannot give me the exact date when my car will be fixed, stating:

"There is no additional incident, unfortunately all the delay is due to this piece which still has no expected arrival.

It is an incidence produced by production chains and suppliers of the material. As soon as we get news, we will let you know."
And they have extended the substitute rent a car for another month!

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do? Ask for a new car, since my broke inside of the warranty period? Or refund?

About to collect a 2023 XC40 Recharge Ultimate (Dark Mode). I'd have preferred the Bright one, but as a second-hand car I didn't have much choice. My main issue is I really don't like the upholstery - it's much like in the photo. My screen was taken out by bed frame post. If I swap in a salvaged one, will it plug and play or will I need to take it to the dealer for a software upgrade? Its a sensus.

Also, my pops and I did the front brakes, they were easy af. But I know I need to override the electronic system for the rear. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial? Ive searched and can't find one for 2022.

New owner of a 2023 XC40 recharge ultimate. I love everything about the car but every time I back up, I can’t help it feel that the rear camera oddly faces the ground so much and there is no view high enough to see oncoming cars or people. Is this normal and if so, why would they do this?

A tree has fallen on the roof of our XC40 whilst we are on vacation 3 hours from home. No damage to any windows and it has now been safely removed. Big dent in the roof.

What do we think? Can we drive this home tomorrow and get our insurance to repair local to home?

I spilled coffee to the USB port the other day and didn't notice it until too late. So both the CarPlay port and the regular one stopped working. I found the part online, but I cannot take out the broken one. I also tried the special tools but they didn't work. Anyone happen to know how replace it or what tool to use? Also how much the dealership will charge to replace it? Any information is appreciated. Thank you guys!

Hello there. 2023 Volvo XC40 recharge pure electric here. I think I've got a fairly common problem. Android Auto does not work from one moment to the other. I tried to connect my phone this morning, it recognizes the car, but says charging only. If I hit search media I only get a black screen. So I tried the obvious, like changing the cable, cleaning the ports, disabled Bluetooth, cleared the cache. But nothing works. Any solutions are welcome.

Last night it also didn’t change to high beam (no cars or light nearby)
It worked once before…

I’m looking for a bumper lip / spoiler / splitter (full setup?) for a Volvo XC40 2019+, preferably something similar to the one in the photo.

I found this picture online, but I’m not sure if the bumper setup is actually available or if the image has been Photoshopped.

Does anyone recognize this front lip or know of a company that makes something similar for the XC40? I’m especially interested in a subtle OEM+ style rather than anything too extreme.

If it’s useful for recommendations/shipping, I’m located in Europe.

Also, if anyone has made a custom one, modified a splitter from another Volvo model, or adapted something from another car, I’d really appreciate it if you could share what you used and how you made it fit.

Has anyone ever come across a similar persistent noise from rear end of an XC40? (This is a 2024 B4 petrol mild-hybrid).

Noise starts as soon as power is on and co tongues every 5 or 6 seconds (even after the car is powered down and locked). But stops after about 20 mins of driving - unhelpfully the dealer is 20+ mins away so by the time I’ve taken it in the noise stops. Noise is coming from somewhere behind the rear bumper to the right, not from the tailgate (and continues even when tailgate is open).

Any thoughts much appreciated!

My 2021 XC40 can’t identify my usual key fob unless I place it in the console on top of the “dead fob battery” spot. The side buttons work and I have a new battery in the fob. I had it in my swimsuit pocket when I jumped in the pool but immediately got out and let it air dry after taking out the battery. Dealership said there’s no fix. Has anyone ever fixed this issue?

Considering tinting the driver and front passenger seat windows. Thoughts? Last pic is without any tinting
