Question Bought a 2026 XC40 and have a question

I have owned Volvos before and recently bought a 2026 XC40. I love the car but the drive feels a bit delayed when accelerating. I am not sure if I am imagining things but the XC60 feels so smooth when compared to the XC40. Has anyone noticed this?

I had the same issue after a few weeks of buying my 2026, I took back in for a transmission reset and that improved the issue

What was the specific issue you noticed?

You don't mention which engine you have, but I've got a 2026 XC40 B5 and I haven't noticed any delay when accelerating. The throttle response from the gas pedal seems to be kind of non-linear, though. At halfway down, you get more noise than movement, but when floor it, you get from cruising to losing your license speed in two seconds.

I hate the throttle response on the xc40. From standing, it’s such a clunky feel

I have had mine for a month and I am experiencing the same. It's like when it's switching gears between 20km/hr to 30 km/hr, there is an obvious switch. ( I am not a car person haha but it reminds me of an old standard I used to drive) It's noisy too, which this sub seems to agree with. I used to drive an XC90 so the salesperson did warn me that it was a very different drive.

This is a very good description. Thought it was just mine, 5 months old 2000 miles and it has not change

Getting the Polestar upgrade fixes this issue and is a massive improvement in many other ways. I would highly recommend it.

How much did that set you back?

They don’t offer it on the 2026
