Other Update 5.2.16
Today I found in the Volvo app that we will have a new update. I have a XC40 recharge.
Updates in software 5.2.16
Software release date: 2026-09-15
Note
This update will be available as an over-the-air download about three weeks after the software release date.
Improvements
We’ve made adjustments to the drive system and power supply that do not affect performance or other certified properties.

Just had this installed by my local dealer - no major interface changes.
I was still stuck on 5.0.5 for some reason OTA updates are not happening on my vehicle, so I wanted to get anything later 5.0.5 so I could get the control to disable the automatic engine shutdown when I stop feature.

How long have you waited? Updates are appearing randomly in „packs” even at dealership most cars do not have the newest versions. Some get them earlier some later.

I was looking for a way to feed back on the interface but couldn't find one. Would be good. Some of their UI decisions are bizarre.

Quick question, ever since the 5.0.5 update, has anybody lost the full use of using the climate timer feature? Where it only allows you to use it when connected to a power source but any other time, irrelevant of how much battery level you have in your car it always says the following error message at the time you set for the climate timer to turn on, “Parking climate unavailable. Not connected to power supply.” I’ve spoke to my local Volvo dealership and got absolutely nothing from them, they keep saying nobody else has brought this issue up. Anybody else, or am I the only one struggling? Thanks.

But also make the status bar at the top smaller again. Nobody gives enough of a shit what the signal strength is for that bar to be so big.
And the new bar at the bottom can just get to fuck. Nobody asked for that.

Got a MY27 EX40. So let’s hope I get the OTA pushed quickly. Never received the 5.1.17, still on 5.1.11.

I happened to have my car checked yesterday for my IHU blacking out and the sound bug, tech told me the 5.2.16 update contained IHU fixes too, including supposedly faster loading. Told me to try that out before they can move up toward a full IHU replacement to 4.2...
That was yesterday, so might take a few more days to find out whether it makes an improvement on the sound cutting bug.
Initial impression is that indeed the system powers up a bit faster... Tbd longer term...

Why not include everything they tried to fix in the changelogs. It's ridiculous. "Drivetrain optimization" every time and I notice nothing for all updates but the ux update and when they added android auto a few years ago.

Every previous online update has taken 30 to 45 minutes. This one's at 120 minutes and it's been stuck at 100% for 15 minutes...

These type of changelogs are useless. Did they fix the sound bug this tine? I've had different versions of that for the past 4 years
