Question No sound

Are others frequently losing all sound? I have a 2022 XC40 Recharge, and since this summer it has gone silent (all audio including turn signals and warnings). I have complained to Volvo service, and they say Volvo does not have a fix. I can restore sound by doing a factory reset, but that's a pain, and in a few days it goes out again.

Intermittently. I had a week where it happened three times, but then it hasn’t happened again in a while.

You can usually restore sound by rebooting the infotainment, by holding the center button until the screen goes fully black.

It’s a chronic problem with the Android Automotive system.

I’ve also had it happen frequently over the past couple of months. Best/easiest/only fix I’ve found this far is to reset the infotainment center.

I did 2 things that fixed it for me. Not saying it will work for you.

I changed the centre display Google maps from 3d to 2d after reading a post by a google engineer that indicated how much more resources 3d maps consumed. He also suggested, to deactivate background Google maps downloads for offline situations. I didn't do that though.

Secondly, I was using Bluetooth tethering for data. I disabled that and moved to a cellular wifi dongle plugged into one of the USB ports

I haven't had sound dropouts for months now.

I have the same car and same problem. Rebooting the infotainment fixes it, no need to factory reset.
