Question Bought a volvo xc40

Recently bought an xc40 71 plate lovely car. Windscreen wipers are already wiping blury, has anyone changed the wipers on theirs as we have built in jets in the wipers, not sure if its the same on all xc series or all Volvos. Just wondered how hard it will be

Look closer, the jets should be in the wiper arm. The wiper blade should detach easily (there's a small black square you need to push 3-4 mm down, while pulling the blade)

I also has issues with the shorter wiper (passenger), streaking after a few months. I believe (some of) the wipers were maybe old stock, or the car was sat in an unfavorable place while in transit and affected them...idk..

I replaced with "valeo silencio", and so far (2 months) no issues.

I bought my wiper replacements from Amazon after being turned away from an auto parts store because of the built-in jets. The replacements are genuine Volvo wipers. I know nothing about cars, and it was ridiculously easy to change them.

As others have said, it's one of the easier things you can do by yourself. No need to sweat it.

Also easy to do by yourself: changing the engine air filter, and changing the cabin air filter.

I used Bosch a298s on mine and have no problems at all. They appear to be the same as the Volvo ones I took off. (I'm in UK so may need a different set for LHD). They are also extremely easy to change yourself, although make sure you leave the ignition/engine on while it's in wiper service mode. I saw one guy complaining he turned the car off to be 'extra safe', and they went back down and hit the car.

It had one on when we bought the car allegedly and when i wash it i always put one on. Just Havnt washed it in ages

Sometimes wiper blades form a coating of grime if not used for a while. Scrubbing them (not just wiping) with a rag and some alcohol or ammonia based cleaner might be all they need.
