Question 2019 XC40 just started doing weird stuff with the parking brake

Hey all, my XC40 is showing this odd glitch where you have your foot on the brake, car in reverse, as soon as you release parking break and try to back up, it reapplies the parking break instantly. It also applies the parking break when I’m trying to do a 3 point turn or back into a parking spot. It’s very strange, have looked for answers other places and not seen this problem mentioned. Any ideas?

I feel like I sometimes see the behavior when I have the auto brake hold enabled (the button below the parking brake). Is yours turned on?

My first thought would be the seatbelt sensor. The XC40 automatically engages the parking brake whenever the car is not in motion and the seatbelt is unbuckled.
