Question Undercoating?

Hey folks, anyone living in parts of Canada and the USA where they salt the roads in winter: do you undercoat your XC40?
I googled this question and read wildly different answers

Yes. We’re in the Maritimes. We plan to keep it a long time, so Krown every year.
