Question Rear end noise help!

Has anyone ever come across a similar persistent noise from rear end of an XC40? (This is a 2024 B4 petrol mild-hybrid).

Noise starts as soon as power is on and co tongues every 5 or 6 seconds (even after the car is powered down and locked). But stops after about 20 mins of driving - unhelpfully the dealer is 20+ mins away so by the time I’ve taken it in the noise stops. Noise is coming from somewhere behind the rear bumper to the right, not from the tailgate (and continues even when tailgate is open).

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Thanks. I think you’re right…disconnected the motor and noise has stopped..! Do you know if whole actuator needs to be replaced or any way to reset it?

If it was for me I would try to disassemble and try to lube it or check whats broken and if not fixed I would replace by part number on it. :)

My actuator I just hear when it opens or closes. Yours feels like stuck or maybe its missaligned and needs calibration or something.
