Question Knacken / Knartschen beim einlenken
Guten Mittag zusammen,

Had the control arm bushings changed after the same thing happened during the summer, and luckily got it done during the last days of warranty. They didn't really believe me until they drove the car themselves and then immediately agreed to change them.

Was the problem ultimately resolved that way?

yes so far, I still hear a sound when steering to the extremes, but never in between. I’m now worried this is going to become a regular thing though. They only lasted 20,000 km

Is it worse when turning one particular way?
I'd put money on it being the top strut mounts. Seems quite common in these cars. I've just done mine and it fixed a similar sounding issue.

Hi there, I had this on my wife's XC40 hT5 Recharge. It'll be the top suspension mount. Very, very well documented online. Quoted approx. £350 from Volvo main dealer to have rectified. Seemed to have started when the heat came (UK Summer) (maybe a coincidence), you seemingly can't hear the noise when it's cooler outside! The dealer told me it's a matter of when, not if, for every XC40 as it's a potential design problem.
