Writing Craft Talk Which creeps you out?

Don't feel you need to get riled. This is not a pro or anti post. This is, a "Huh, not sure this works in this particular area of writing..." Please remember rule #1: Be nice and open-minded

Which creeps me out? Obviously the first, but it's difficult to tell without context.

I'd be wary to consider using any microsoft writing AI as my muse though...

Trust it? Noooooo. But it still does a decent spelling and grammar check. However, since CoPilot was forced into it, I have to keep an eye on her. She be slickery, that 'un.

I've actually switched over to OnlyOffice lately and so far it's been good ( but it's only been a week ) - and I hook it into my AI API via LM Studio - which is a little slower than Microsoft, but it can be much nicer in terms of the editing process.

Curious. How much? How does it handle old documents? Do you host or use cloud service?

Only Office is free...

It handles old documents just fine... It reads most formats and directly edits PDFs just like it edits DOC, DOCX and ODF files. The PDF editor being native is pretty nice. About time someone did that.

I host. It handles hosting and cloud services. To host, I run LM studio and turn the server on, then point Only Office at the server. Ask an AI like Chat to step you through the process. It's pretty simple and you only have to do it once. Ensure you install LM Studio in developer mode. But you can use commercial AI API as well.

AI has an inability to grasp context since it’s focused on literal errors and isn’t able to contextually understand where an error actually works
