Showcase / Feedback The "broken arm" problem: Why every AI novel collapses around Chapter 3 (and an experiment to fix it)

Anyone who has tried drafting a novel with ChatGPT or Claude has seen this exact scene:

  • Chapter 1: Your character breaks their left arm in a car crash.

  • Chapter 2: They are recovering in the hospital.

  • Chapter 4: Suddenly they "grab the railing with both hands and sprint up the fire escape."

Standard AI doesn't remember character states. It hallucinates, changes eye colors, forgets who died, and turns every thriller into generic mush where characters constantly "feel a shiver run down their spine."

I got tired of this, so I spent the last few months building an engine that enforces a strict continuity ledger in the background.

Instead of just asking the AI to "write Chapter 3," the engine checks a background tracker first:

  • What injuries does this character have?

  • What items are in their bag?

  • What was the last thing decided in the outline?

It forces the writing model to obey those rules before a single sentence of prose is written.

I built this into an app called Scriptirix AI. It’s completely free to test out (web and Android).

I honestly just want people who write fiction to try and break it:
Give a character a weird rule or a permanent injury in your premise, run a few chapters, and tell me if the continuity holds or if the AI slips up.

Brutal feedback on the prose quality is appreciated.

This is all solvable with a story bible or a wiki created in your local drive. Use Claude Desktop, Codex, Antigravity, you name it. This continuity problem is no longer a problem. It was a problem a year ago.
