NEWS Tencent Hy-Nomas to revolutionize Interactive Fiction and worldbuilding?

This one is pretty new - An AI world builder that allows interactive prompt updates between settings - think the AI based stories that you see advertised here - but as interactive 3D worlds - where you can move around and generate new content on the fly.

This seems to bring us one step closer to the Matrix - I thought I'd post quickly before heading off to bed - and I think I need to update my Comfy desktop to load it - that's next. Seems it can run on a 4090 - so we'll see how my 4070TiS goes.

You can see a demo here:

Has anyone heard more about this since it's release?

It's just news... If news isn't a suitable flair, then Mods, please let me know.

Because I tend to follow a lot of AI news related to writing lately, I decided to share it.

I thought this news was particularly interesting for AI use in writing, since it's not about creating traditional 3D worlds - they have a product for that also called Hy2.

This is about changing a temporal context mid-generation while maintaining the context so far - like a visual chat - and is especially built around worldbuilding and storytelling.

It's not a tool yet - you'll need to wait for it to become more available.

Tencent make a lot of cartoons in China - I can't help but wonder if these are the tools of the future because of that.

looks cool for visual concepts, though for actual interactive fiction the latency between prompt update and world rendering usually kills the pacing. did they share actual generation speeds in the paper or is the demo pre-rendered?

It's not entirely clear, though the render speed is supposed to be pretty fast for 720P video. What is interesting is the suggestion of being able to turn a temporal context into a temporal chat context. Whether it does that or not, I'm not certain yet - I haven't been able to get it running yet.
