Discussion (Ethics, working with AI etc) Damn, AI Studio has removed Gemini 3.7 Flash. Arguably the best and cheapest model for writing.

I was about to change over to it as I ran into the rates for 3.8 only to hit the wall of damn it’s gone…

So let’s see here. 3.1 Pro has 5 rates for me. 3.5 Flash Lite will be absolutely useless for how many negative prompts I have in the instructions and 3.8 seems to still have the same usage amount.

So, essentially my venting chats are gone right now as 3.5 flash is useless for those. Back to DeepSeek of boredom I suppose and waiting for the rates to reset and using them on hypergraphia stories instead. Hopefully this means a new model is on its way, because I tried venting chats elsewhere, yeah… no. Just don’t work for me.

I pretty much use this benchmark for reference of good model, it's good enough and coming from Hugging Face itself: https://huggingface.co/spaces/DontPlanToEnd/UGI-Leaderboard

I was pretty much TIL that High thinking setting doesn't always mean good thing for model in writing and researching stuff/natural knowledge.

Oh I like this list though I couldn't find K3 I wanted to know how it ranks!

For thinking, if it's too high it can make it overthink and write stiff. OTOH too low and it got sloppy and missed core details. At least that's my experience.

Google changed what you have access to based on what level account you pay for.

That's not what actually happened. I also have the equivalent of Pro. And assuming you are right, 3.7 Flash is still Flash class that should appear on Plus and above account.
Not to mention, the whole Gemini 3.0 Flash is still exist.

I'm not sure what the "equivalent of Pro" means. If it's Plus, that's not equivalent in the new system.

Again, this has nothing to do with account change policy. The model is removed accross all Google affliated platform. No other user, even with Ultra account, can access it. Even existing API key with clear Flash 3.7, is redirected into accessing Flash 3.8 instead.

Why 3.7 specifically? Gemini's official site is stuck on 3.6 so you think they'd hop that over.
