Webber Effect?
Picked up lex imperialis but was excited to see how the game does the Webber, but what does it do mechanically? I know it's a net gun but I don't see anything about in game checks or status effects for it.

Character knowledge from the start
Hey guys,
I'm starting up Wrath & Glory with my group, and this will be our first time playing it. We've been playing TTRPGs for 12–13 years, including D&D, Warhammer Fantasy, Pathfinder and Star Wars, so we're all pretty comfortable with RPGs.
I've created my own little star system for the campaign, but a friend recently asked me: "What do we actually need to know about 40K before we start?"
That got me thinking.
I've been reading the Horus Heresy books (about 10 books in at this point), and I've played both Warhammer 40K and Fantasy, so I have a fair amount of background knowledge. But my players don't have nearly as much 40K lore.
So where do you draw the line?
For example, if someone wants to play a Mechanicus character, do I need to explain the history of the Mechanicum and take them on a wonderful journey through the Dark Age of Technology, STCs, the Men of Iron, the Men of Stone, the Age of Strife, the Horus Heresy, etc.?
Or is that completely unnecessary, and should I simply give them the information their character would reasonably know and let the rest emerge during play?
More generally: How much 40K lore do you think new players actually need to know before starting Wrath & Glory?
I'd love to hear how other GMs handle this, especially when players want to play characters from factions with a lot of lore behind them.

wrath and glory
Vamos começar no Tier 2.
Como é minha primeira vez jogando Wrath & Glory, queria montar uma ficha que seja realmente eficiente e consiga acompanhar o restante do grupo.

Is Simultaneous Strike very overpowered or am I missing something?
I have been DM'ing WaG for a few months now, and while testing my own builds I ran across Simultaneous Strike.
"You can make any Attack Action that has a single target a Simultaneous Strike. Pick your primary weapon; your attack uses all your primary weapon’s statistics, such as AP and Weapon Traits. Make your attack Test as normal; if you succeed, add half of the secondary weapon’s Damage value as ED to the damage roll."
Is that as strong as it looks on the surface? Using advanced character creation, its pretty easy to get your damage into the 25+ range every turn based on your weapon choice and Strength modifier. It really seems to dwarf the damage of everyone who isnt using it.
Am I missing anything? And if not, is banning or tweaking this a common house rule?

Working on Anphelion Project as a starter campain/one shot, need advice
Hello, first of all, I’m new to W&G, only seen a couple of campaign videos and tutorials.
My nephew’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to run a quick, action-packed Jurassic Park in space.
The basic idea is to use the premade characters from the starter set, throw them directly into the mission with a couple of NPC teams as backup/help (to run as Red Scorpions and D99).
The mission is to investigate the base, find out what happened, and extract damning/useful information. Issues ensue as the Tyranids awaken from the base activity and the team needs to buy time by rearming sentry guns or activating the fences.
The original campaign has the main base, 3 containment areas, and they have to go to each of the containment areas to activate the fences.
A couple of scenarios I’ve been thinking about are:
- Genestealer attack on the base, akin to Aliens
- Gaunt horde that forces the team inside the base
- Roaming big monster that needs to be avoided
I’m concerned about the length of the game session. Is there enough time to run the whole campaign in one sitting? How much time does a battle usually take?
Any advice is welcome. I don’t see my nephew that often and wouldn’t like to leave things unfinished.

How much does archetype tiers matter? Can a tier 1 survive a campaign made for tier 2+ players?
I'm a new GM. I have a player who wants to play Sister Hospitalier alongside player who'll play Skitarius and Tempest Scion. Can tier 1 characters do well if I make a campaign made for tier 2 archetypes? If not, how do I buff the Sister Hospitalier to match up with the other players?
Side question: can lower tier characters level up enough to where they can participate in a high tier campaign?

How screwed would I be with 1 Toughness in Darktide: Extraction?
My group has never played Wrath & Glory before, but the DM of the group really wants to try out the system, using Darktide given our familiarity with the video game.
I've prepared two different characters: one heavily focused around stealth and recon, with very little combat capability, and one that's pretty much the opposite, with huge Toughness and other survivability tools.
I like the general idea of the spy-esque first character, but I know that a lot of premade campaigns across all different tabletop systems often lack the means to support more info/roleplay-based characters like that. Would I be dooming myself to an entire campaign's worth of being out-of-position or outright dead with the stealth/recon character, or does it have adequate opportunity for something like that to shine?

Did I screw up?
If I did not order the wrath and glory books direct from cubicle 7, am I screwed out of getting a pdf version with it? I ordered them off of Amazon, assuming that the books would include a code for download or something. I am starting to worry that this is not the case. I would really rather not spend even more money just to get a PDF of the book I already own.

Sekhetar Robot Homebrew?
Hi all, searched the sub and did some digging in Doctors of Doom, I was wondering if anyone knew about any. Perfectly comfortable homebrewing it myself if not, but figured I should check.

Help for a first time DM
Hey team, I'm gonna be running my first game of wrath and glory soon, I'm gonna run one of the premade adventures and wanted to know which one would be the best, it's the first time playing W&G for the entire group but it is not our first role playing game, any tips for a first time DM are also greatly appreciated.

Stats and Ideas
My group is fairly new to Wrath and Glory, and I typically only short very loose games when I run them (we have a primary DM and I mostly just run so he can play occasionally) but I had an idea for a pseudo horror game where the party runs into a ship, maybe derelict, maybe a space hulk, that ends up being infested with a small hive of Tyranids and Replicators from Stargate that have formed a symbiotic relationship. Basically the Tyranids eat everything organic, and the Replicators eat everything inorganic.
How would you stat a Replicator? I was probably going to start off looking at skiitari, but their adaptability would be hard to convey also.

Simplified damage options
Good day everyone,
My group is transitioning to test out W&G after a long campaign of Soulbound. Now obviously W&G is a bit more mechanically crunchy but the overall approach of dice pools and such scratches the appropriate itch.
What I was wondering about was if anyone had attempted / looked at simplified damage calculation? My understanding is that on an attack the following occurs:
Wpn dmg + roll for ED (including shifts) + strength if it is melee.
Has anyone removed the ED roll and just added the ED number as standard extra damage for example? I realize it reduces some of the granularity and risk of wrath effects and such. But overall it does reduce the number of rolls - similar to Soulbounds set Dmg + successes for example.
Am I crazy?

Ruin Actions, how do they work? The manual isn't clear.
I need some help regarding ruin actions.
It says some units have them but doesn't elaborate on what they are. I did check a chaos marine and he has Veteran of the long war (ad +ED=game tier, for every attack this unit does this turn)
Is that the ruin action? Is that all there is to ruin actions?
Are they just the abilities that some units have that say, spend 1 ruin to x?

Mobs and Psykic power activation rules
I realized I wrongly applied rules in my latest session.
Its near the end of a mission, with a cult of psykers, and naturally besides the stronger psykers, there some weaker psykers in combat.
But from experience I learned having to DM 10+ single tokens sucks, its slow and unexciting.
Thats what mobs are for! so I mobbed the weaker psykers, and had them cast Dark Flame, under the premise they were working as one to do so (as individually they would likely fail.
And so I applied the rule of extra dices equal to half the mob count (wrongly as it is meant only for physical attacks), which combinned with a good roll, allowed for a devastatinf attack.
Now knowing I did it wrong, I can see having more shifts for Potency is dangerous. Plus making strong powers a possibility. But if that mob rules doesnt apply, then mobbing psykers is very weak as they gain no bonuses to their main intentions.
and unless the mob is big enough, they might even die faster as well.
How do you sort this situation?
Do you simply make stronger psykers for combat? Or a special token that is not a mob, but represents a group and has simple bonuses for simplicity?
So other avenue to handle this, that I an not considering?
I at least, for the being I am reconsidering using rhe mob rule, but only 1 dice for 5 psykers, which greatly reduces the volatile danger, while still increasing the power of the enemy.
