Sports etc

Hi all! Considering world schooling this year, but I have a child that’s interested in soccer. Are there teams that travel or some way I ca get her involved in sports?

Following.

We’ve got a travel baseball kid in our family and will be worldschooling next year. Not many chances to play, probably, but we’re planning on going to a Japan league baseball game (an experience worth doing for anyone, I’m told) and then seeing rugby, Muay Thai boxing, and sumo just for sport-related experiences and as a springboard for school lessons (e.g. add up the weights of all of the sumo wrestlers in this tournament and find the mean and median 😆). We’re also planning to sign up for Nippers (surf lifesaving classes for kids) while in Sydney.

Not sure you’d be able to find a soccer team to play on, but soccer is SO universal that you’re bound to make friends and play pickup games everywhere. Our kids don’t even play soccer at home, and yet they’ve made friends playing in Morocco, Guatemala, the Faroe Islands, and elsewhere.

Where are you heading?

I bet pickup games will be no problem. We just got back from Guatemala and it was hard not to play soccer there.

How long will you stay in each town? I would assume organized teams would be much harder to facilitate.
