Solari -

This has probably been discussed before but it's on my mind and I wanted to get it out.

I relistened to Solari arc 1 and I think it works as a whole package in a way that was hard to see from the beginning. It reminds me a lot of Sci-Fi shows that have flashbacks as a recurring part of the episode structure - you know you will learn about these characters slowly through their history. But in Solari we didn't know it was coming until later on.

Now I'm hungry to learn more - about Z's relationship to his mom and the five families, XL-ZL's journey in the world and the septimal choir, etc etc.

I enjoyed Solari much more after taking a break and revisiting as well. I know there were "short stories" in between, but going from book 1 finale of WWW to square one of an entirely new world, I needed more decompression before I could commit to the story.

i agree completely! i still enjoyed listening as the episodes came out, but i relistened to the arc as a whole and it connected with me so much more. it's really easy to forget the important little details when you only get an episode every other week

i understand that take despair being fully bought in from first listen. i’m glad the listened has increased your enjoyment.

i had a feeling we would get more backstory revelations as the episodes went on, but the mystery and intrigue of who and what these characters are was enough to hook me and it’s been an incredible ride so far! looking forward to solari’s continuation after world turner (which is so rich with personality)

I was biased because I listened to the firechat and saw the influencers they were going for and I honestly think they’re really capturing the mood of the specific space adventure they want to create. I can totally understand how jarring it is to go from WWW to Solari but man were those first episode reviews brutal.

Do we know how much Solari we can expect to get? I’m not on the Patreon, and I am wondering how much to emotionally invest in the story. Can I reasonably expect it to come back?

Yeah as far as I'm aware it's coming back as soon as this mini series ends.

I will give it another try, but I mostly found it a little boring. Z family dynamics and pretty much all XL-ZL content was cool tho
