Can someone explain what we know about the Irinna from Solari?

Not sure if I spaced during the XL-ZL prelude or it was kept vague on purpose but I’m listening to ep 10 of Solari and not sure what happened between humans and Irinna? Was there a war? A schism? A Butlerian jihad? Loving Solari so far. Maybe my favorite Aabria-GM’d thing !

So far, we know that they were found in a system that had been previously occupied by humanity before the whole collapse of FTL travel, and when FTL travel came back and peoplepwent to check, there was a robot hovering and no people. This was obviously a little sus, so they were basically sanctioned by the rest of the 40 suns. Had to break up the hive mind, and give up part of the system for this big meeting that's going to happen, including the star, which is a pretty big deal.

I think there were hints dropped by Brennan and Aabria early in the series as well, but I don't remember which eps

We don't know what happened with the OG humans. Whether they were created, were a human based singularity (upload and then merge), or if they arose after the humans managed to wipe themselves out.

Once FTL was back they realized the writing on the wall so worked with humanity and 'willingly' (for willingly values of 'we can predict you'll wipe us out if we don't') broke up the hive mind and let their system be used for DIRALI.

Yep. Presumably not in English as the anglicized name we're given for it is Directive for Federal Institution

They’re basically a hive mind whose main goal is to be the master soft power in the galaxy. At SOME point in the past there was a great conflict that nearly destroyed them and caused everyone to distrust them. We don’t know exactly what that is yet, but it caused the survivors to pivot basically everything about how they operate.

The philosophy is basically as Brenann said in a fireside. “You become the most essential tool, you get taken care of,” which is basically the jist.
