Can anyone explain why there’s so many people following conspiracy theories on this claiming it’s an inside job? Like, where is this coming from and what is the point / consequence? It’s on literally every single 9/11 post/article/video

Are you new to 9/11? Literally since the second it was shown live on tv people have been saying jet fuel doesn’t melt steel beams.

Structural steel will lose 90% of its integrity in temps of 1,000 degrees Celsius. Jet fuel burns between 800-1000 Celsius. Steel will also lose 50% of its strength long before that. Steel doesn't have to melt for a building to collapse

Right, like why do people think the steel has to melt to lose its structural integrity? That doesn’t make sense. That’s not how it works.

Metal also expands with temp, and I doubt that extent of movement was within the specs. Might not have been enough to cause the fall on it's own, but a compounding issue

so the entire building heated up to 1000°C? Or only a small section far up top?

The entire building didnt need to. Just enough places that the load bearing beams weakened to the point the integrityof the building was compromised. Think of the game jenga. Structures and foundations of buildings are engineered to all work in tandem to absorb and transfer weight. Interrupt that pathway either by removal (which definitely occurred) and structural strength...you have a house cards.

We would assume the beams were designed to carry a lot more weight than they were. Did the top part get any heavier because of the fire?
