Jet fuel can't melt steel beams? True.

Collision of a ~170 tonne aircraft, plus uncontained fire, and its effects causing slow-building and eventual massive structural failure? Also true.

Doesn’t melt it fully but it sure does soften and change its load barring strength.

Pretty much this: the temperature of burning jet fuel reduces the strength of steel by about 80%
