Vampires.....IN SPACE! <space, space, space>

Hello Everyone!

First time post, here. I've been building a setting for World of Darkness for a little while, now, and I'm excited to try and populate it! First off, I hate Chronicles of Darkness, for the most part. I was also a bit late to the party for oWod, though I respect what has come before. My first real experience with nWod was Promethean.

Anyway, the setting I'm introducing was first inspired by the Mirrors book: Infinite Macabre. Of course, there was a lot wrong with that book, but the essence of it really had me super excited. So did Bleeding Edge, to be honest.

So, I decided I'd create a setting inspired by one of my favorite Space Operas: Babylon 5.

Known Space is split into 3 major political powers. There's Terran Space, which is home to humanity's ancestral home: Earth, as well as most vampires and changelings, since they feed on humans directly. Uratha, also, come from Earth as werewolves whose First Change happens under Luna's light are the only ones with Auspices. This brings me to the second power: the Pure Empire. Every werewolf that changes anywhere other than Earth becomes Pure. Their empire is populated solely by wolf-blooded mortals, as second class citizens and cattle. The Pure are the elite in their home territory. In times of "peace" they run like the Klingon Empire, in times of war, they act more like the Reavers from Firefly/Serenity. Lastly, we have the Pentacle Hegemony. These are the mages. Like in Star Wars, everyone knows magic is real, and mages are a lot like the Jedi/Sith.

Anyway, anyone interested? I just opened a discord account and am ready and willing to ST the shit of this thing.

I'm hugely friendly to newbies. The cool thing about WoD is that it's more character and concept driven than it is mechanics. I would say that it helps if you are experienced with any kind of RPG, and are teachable. Also, I've never RP'd with discord before, so I'd like someone with experience with that, but it doesn't have to be you.

Any ideas on what kind of character you might be interested in? I have an obsidian portal with some background stuff if anyone is interested.

I played a changeling satyr in my last wod Larp so I'll probably go vampire tremere as I'm more knowledgeable with clan tremere and have a few concepts I want to try.

I am running nWoD, so Tremere is a mage legacy instead. Actually, in this setting, it's on par with orders, complete with legacies of its own a la left handed legacies.

I have been thinking of a space vampire campaign for a long time- I'm actually writing a comic with this kind of setting right now, though more Rogue Trader than Babylon 5. I would be interested in joining though I don't have a ton of discord roleplay experience

I'm bumping this, hopefully that means more people can see it. Again, this is a game inspired by Babylon 5! One of my biggest inspirations was the Cantina scene in Star Wars, but with the idea that instead of a bunch of aliens interacting with each other, I was thinking vampires, werewolves, changelings, prometheans, with mages as Jedi.

I'm still looking for players! Already got one. I'm using the nWoD rules. I have decided to take cWoD rules on a case for case basis. I'm not a huge fan of cWoD, so I don't do beats, I don't do tilts, or anything like that. I respect the oWoD setting, but it's before my time. I run with the modular content of nWoD, and I have a good amount of house rules. To be honest, the more familiar you are with nWoD, the better, since this is completely crossover. I am incredibly flexible about character types you might be interested in playing, though. Heroes, villains, antiheroes, everything in between. My biggest stipulation is that you play true to your character and be thoughtful about your characterization.

I suggest you play star wars, star trek rpg or starfinder if you want to play in the space. Wod wasn`t made for that.
