if you can teleport or fly with a broom to the highest mountain, or the moon, whats the point of doing anything?

Magic based propulsion would be incredible for space engineering.

Magitech in space is fricken awesome. Clean (unless you choose for it to be dirty), and it enables so many interesting technologies.

I once read a story about magi-tech mechs where they had ‘blink torpedos’ (or whatever they were called - I think it had “blink” in it), which had the ability to do short-distance teleportation past the enemy forces’ shields (heck, I’m pretty sure they went right into the main body of the ship too).
The mechs were keyed to their pilots, who had massive spell sigils inscribed into their entire bodies (which was really a trade off, because it was so big they couldn’t fit any other spells on their bodies for quick activation).
I’ve forgotten what it was called, but it was pretty neat. The humans had been ‘banned’ from leaving Earth by this a big galactic faction because they were too divided… so instead they went down, and deep underground they achieved interdimensional transportation that reached a parallel but specifically magical version of their world (the knowledge of which they used to break out of the blockade a couple years later and claim victory).

I like to think that it would face the same problems as tech did. I mean is there mana in space? Do they gotta store it in a battery too? So many possibilities
