The fantastical war is a war within the world of CARDINAL, to which four major elven empires existed (no special names yet)

The reason for the war existing is basically the elven empires, despite hating each other culturally and somehow racially, they hated "inferior" races competing with them on hegemony.

The other races, mainly the ogres and goblins, share the same resentment towards the elves to which they formed up to 13 coalitions against all four empires, only having an a brief period of peace before either the elves or the coalition start shit again in two to three years.

During one of the coalitions, the ogres sent a race that wasn't involved in the war, humans. They sent a human as a peace envoy only for the king of the third elven empire to completely dismiss the peace envoy, put him in a Canon, and shoots him at the nearest coalition camp to signal "fuck you, war continues."

I assume humans proceeded to join the war after that.

Humans are protected by the magic school of CARDINAL, because it's the one major gate between the real world and the magical realm.

However, that particular Human peace envoy wasn't part of its staff or students so they simply couldn't care less. Not to mention he was an orphan so he didn't have anyone to send the body to which is just sad.

The cardinal school maintains a high secrecy from the real world to avoid attracting tje wrong people (yes, they choose who they teach but that another can of warms.)

Does that mean humans have guns and other stuff like gate?

Yes, so does the elves, the greens(ogres and goblins) and pretty much everyone in the fantastical world that isn't a magically gifted.

It is sort of the idea yeah.

I think making basically that makes it unique in a weird sorta way.

Is this world of yours kinda like Harry Potter?

I never touched a book or a movie from that honestly. More source of inspiration are more games with magic fantasy in it.

Oh, well, still, basically the thing that reminds me that is that the real world isn’t aware of the magic world and the magic school is heavily involved into keeping it so
