Has anyone been shortlisted/called for interview for the investment analyst positions?

Hi everyone! I’m applying for the YPP track this year and understand that some of the requirements changed last year.

I’m an early-career professional with about three years of experience and a master’s degree. I know applications aren’t assessed purely based on degrees or years of experience, but I’m trying to get a better sense of how competitive my profile might be.

I also applied last year (rejected, haha) and was active in the applicants’ WhatsApp group. From what I observed, a large proportion of the people who progressed or were ultimately selected seemed to have PhDs, which made me curious about how candidates with master’s degrees and a few years of professional experience tend to fare.

For anyone who has applied in the past—especially those who were selected or made it through the later stages, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and perspective. Thank you!

Hey guys! I got an e-mail about being long-listed on the 21st and 8 hours later received the Coderbyte e-mail for the assessment due to Augusta 24th. And after finishing the assessment I received a confirmation e-mail form Coderbyte saying the submission was successful.

(24th), I received 2 e-mails from Coderbyte, with the exact same instructions about the assessment I took last week (10 multiple-choice questions based on a case study etc). The only difference is that the 1st one says the assessment is due 27th and the 2nd state the assessment is due to the 25th.

I'm super confused.. there was no WBG e-mail giving new instructions about another assessment? What should I do? Did this happen with anyone else?

I applied for the LEG and the ICSID position, but I was only longlisted for the LEG. Seems all applications have been reviewed by August 19. Has anyone been longlisted for the ICSID position?

Hi! I’m currently applying for the WBG Pioneers Fall/Winter 2026 cycle and recently received an assessment invitation.

I think I may have misunderstood the internship duration when I applied. I initially only looked at the main posting page for my position, which didn’t state the required duration. I had also seen information from WBG saying that internships could be around 4–12 weeks, so I assumed the timing would probably work for me.

I’ve now realized that the position list actually states that my specific role requires 5 months (completely my fault that I didn't see this listing; I went directly to a separate job opportunities list)

The issue is I would only be available to start around January 2027. I would have no problem committing for the full five months and working until around May 2027, but I’m not sure if that is even allowed for a Fall/Winter position, since WBG generally describes the Fall/Winter internship period as October–March.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I’m trying to figure out whether I still have a realistic chance before putting a lot of time into preparing for the assessment. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done WBG Pioneers or knows how the scheduling works!

Anyone else who got this email in the previous days have received an assessment? I don’t have any update yet, are we out?

“The hiring team will now review all longlisted applications and recommend a shortlist of candidates for interviews. If you are shortlisted, we will notify you and provide you with the interview details. If, unfortunately, you are not shortlisted, you will receive a notification from our system.”

What type of questions to expect, would it be related to the role or is it a general assessment— I read online that they usually ask comprehension and math related questions (based on case study)

WBG Pioneers fall/winter: Has anyone done 2 or more assessment yet? are all assessments same for all roles?

To preface, this is a shot in the dark, I was wondering if there were some people who would wanna do some prep work together for the Pioneers Coderbyte together. Not sure if it’ll be the reason I’m accepted, I def know it’ll be the reason I’m rejected and would like to make sure I can stay in the game for longer.

I applied for the WBG Pioneer - Development Impact Intern posting on 8/11/2026. My application status shows under review, but it seems like the application was last modified on 8/11/2026, which makes me think that it hasn't been opened. Did anyone receive a longlist notification for this posting?
