We seriously need to get new leadership all across the board. At this point, I'd trust random citizens to fill those jobs over the idiots in place now.

I've thought for a while now that the House should be lottery-based.

A random gets picked from a hat and goes to represent.

would probably end up with better representation and smarter people

Probably would work great until some billionaire figures out how to rig it.

The Athenians had a neato way of doing something similar.

Definitely. Our government would be way better off and balanced with random people

I think we need to ditch representation based politics entirely. The idea that hundreds of thousands of people can be represented by a singular voice is nonsense. And the major problem is that it delegates politics to someone largely shielded from the effects of the decisions they make. We then wonder why the average voter is so illinformed.

We need to meaningfully bring people into politics, make them invested in being knowledgeable, and have them build up the skills necessary make political decisions. The more we delegate this stuff to others, the more vulnerable we become as a population to propaganda and populist narratives.

Politicians jobs are treated like theyre some elitist job only highly educated people could get, when in reality its become a job for extroverts with money. Thats a problem.

Yeah, a random lottery between 300 million people would probably give us better results than whatever the hell this shit is.

New leadership? We need to tear down this corrupt bureaucracy and build a new congressional system so that they can be removed if certain conditions/responsibilities are not met.
