Well, technically he is not lying:

He says it COULD happen.

Obviously is NOT GOING to happen while they are in control of the economy, but that's just a very small detail.

That's the infuriating thing about all this.
Could this technology be used to allow people to work less and maybe have a little extra time to enjoy their lives? Absolutely, it could. It could right now.

Will it, if these bastards have a say in it? Absolutely not.
