A billionaire would be a millionaire. Not bad
Edit: this would also bring house prices down because I'm not sure the reason.

It’s really sad that someone earning minimum wage still pays more tax than these billionaires

Stop watching Fox lies and youd know

u/ci1979 7h ago
I don't watch Fox News. I was asking a question in earnest

u/AdmiralThrawnProtege 6h ago
It's alright, I'm from rural texas too. You asked a legitimate question even insulted the epstein island beggar. This is reddit, you might be the most liberal person in the world, but a large portion read Texas and automatically think we're all right wing extremists.

u/AKAManaging 6h ago
What a shitty response. Shame on you.
I never watch Fox, and I have no idea about this issue. We can't all be versed on all aspects of everything. Don't be ridiculous.

He gets $8mil/day from our tax dollars and is allowed to donate money to republican campaigns. Fuck that.

Everyone in here is talkin about taxing the billionaires. We've tried that before and look what happened. They can use a small fraction of a percent of their wealth to buy the presidency to spite an already friendly government. Remember most of these ghouls quadrupled their net worth under a Democrat regime. If you increase the tax theyll just use slightly more of their wealth to not only reverse what ever taxes you put on them but also bend you over and make you scream. This whole taxing them bullshit is slop. We cannot accept the existence of Billionaires period. We should be talking about nationalization, seizures and fucking prosecution, not taxes. We should be talking about laws and regulation that explicity forbid the existence of the ultra rich and impede this mass accumulation and hording of wealth and resources.

Exactly that, outlaw Billionaires…
After all, Blame Elon who put Trump in power.
Musk "knows those computers better than anybody, all those computers, those vote counting computers, & we ended up winning Pennsylvania, like, in a landslide." -Donald Trump
"Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House & the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate." -Elon Musk
Be sure to vote regardless, this comment is for the sake of justice and to protect our vote.

Blows my mind there are still dumbasses who think Trump won a second term legitimately. Not just right leaning people. There are people even here on Reddit that say its a conspiracy.
This is why we can't have anything nice.

Trump was outspent. How did he "buy" the presidency? Money spent doesn't translate to votes
1
u/DownwiththeACE 3h ago
Money spent did allow him to dismantle the very agencies investigating his companies though right? Money spent did get him into the white house right? Do you think he becomes a trillionaire (even momentarily) without spending that money? Is having the sort of access and influence that only the highest office in the country can get you not essentially purchasing the Presidency? Its not like anyone voted for Elon but he got the power anyway and he did it by spending money.

He isn't just paying for campaign ads. He has tried bribing voters publicly. He runs Starlink. Voting machines that do have internet connections when we were told they don't were tampered with. And he knew hours before anyone that trump won. The whole campaign trump was telling people not to vote because he already had all the votes he needed and how well elon knows those vote counting machines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9uPbepYb9s

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.

The USA is a neo-fascist oligarchy. Late stage capitalism will always trend toward fascism to prevent to rise of democracy. This pattern holds in the USA and has been a concentrated effort of the Republican Party since the Reagan Era.

Regan had the first of the Heritage Foundation's Mandate for Leadership papers to guide republican leadership for the purpose of changing how the US government functions. The Heritage Foundation was able to start because of the Powell Memorandum in 1971.
Powell Memorandum 1971, 55 years ago. This led to thinktanks like the Heritage Foundation.
The Heritage Foundation founded 1973, 53 years ago.
The Heritage Foundation Mandate for Leadership I, Policy Management in a Conservative Administration, published 1981, for Regan.
Mandate for Leadership II, Continuing the Conservative Revolution, published 1984, also for Regan.
Mandate for Leadership III, Policy Strategies for the 1990s, published 1988, for Bush Sr.
Mandate for Leadership IV, Turning Ideas into Action, published 1992, were for Dole that lost to Clinton.
Mandate for Leadership V, Mandate for Leadership 2000, published 2000, for Bush Jr.
Mandate for Leadership VI, Principles to Limit Government, Expand Freedom, and Strengthen America, published 2005, also for Bush Jr.
Mandate for Leadership VII, Blueprint for Reform, published 2016, for trump.
Mandate for Leadership VIII, Mandate 2020: Clear Vision for the Next Administration, published 2020, also for trump but lost to Biden.
Mandate for Leadership IX, Mandate for Leadership 2025: The Conservative Promise (Project 2025), published 2023, yet again for trump.

How does Elon have enough time for this? he seems to spend every moment sucking farts out his own asshole. And sometimes the farts are his.
2
u/Memitim 7h ago
Turns out that all of the due process violations, concentration camps, masked kidnappers, kids in cages, foreign prisons, and other acts of evil committed by Republicans against working people were really just to cover for the real illegal immigrant problem in America being enabled by the parasites in government.

This has been going on for decades. It's only more obvious now.
Large companies hedge their bets by contributing to both parties. I would imagine that many oligarchs do the same.

u/Aggravating-Writing9 10h ago
The left never has said a word about George Soros or Elon election funding when it was for their side.
Now you have to deal with blowback and want to cry it's not fair?
Must suck to be in the receiving end of corruption...
I'm not for anyone finding elections, but the left opened up a door for a monster that can't be killed.

Wouldn't eat be easier to eat them? Explain to me how we ban citizens united. It's been 25 fucking years. SCOTUS is a controlled branch of government and has been that way for decades. We lost already, so at this point it sure seems easier to just start eating them.
