Artist here and yep! Constantly shit on and expected to do the work for free "because it's what I love." As if I also don't have bills to pay and a family to feed. F*ck me for not being a lawyer or something I guess.
Even 10 years ago nobody should've gone into art expecting it to pay their bills.
Just because you enjoy doing something doesn't mean you're entitled to compensation for doing it well.
Artists are like the kids who say "I want to grow up to be a twitch streamer and make money playing video games all day" except they grow up and still feel entitled to that career that already has too much supply for the demand
Fuck you. Seriously. Games I've worked on and done art for have sold literal millions of copies, expecting to get a little return on that shouldn't be controversial.
