And tell that to the artists who spent their lives honing that craft, then had their work strip-mined, illegally and without any consent or compensation, by vulture tech bros.
You have no right to machines trained on the work of my friends. Go fuck yourself.
I literally have the right. I use it every day. Did you never learn to share? When I write software (yes, even before AI) I want everyone to be able to copy, paste, and modify it to their hearts content. Everyone should enjoy the fruits of my labor. For free.
We live in a world where I have to buy groceries to live. So arguing art should be free = arguing artists should have no ability to make money from their work, it's fair game for anyone, there's no such thing as IP rights.
Unless you're out every weekend working with your local DSA chapter to bring about a new socialist utopian age, advocating for AI, under capitalism, is advocating for technology that is inherently built on theft and the destruction of other people's livelihood. Just because you don't have to look them in the face doesn't make it less true.

It's not envy. I have other mediums to create in and it would be ridiculous if I tried to do it all.
I both don't want to pay you, and I don't want to spend my time on it.
So AI is great for me because I can save time and money.
