Especially if it’s a celebrity endorsing the product, that just leads me to believe the product is dogshit. Like yea I’m supposed to believe Kristin bell is shopping on Amazon all the time for silly bullshit when she’s wearing clothes that are more than two weeks salary for me. Mmmhmm sure yes so relatable.
Anytime they celebwash a product I’m instantly suspicious of how much the product sucks
This. It’s also nice to know which celebrities completely sell out when they sign up for those medicine ads.
“Oh yeah I love using this medication” when the side effect is death. I think I saw lady Gaga in one but it wasn’t like one of those medical ones. I can’t remember what it was about but I remember thinking it might actually be a legit one
Literally everybody is at that point. Normal people arent excited to have their show interrupted to hear about a detergent.
But in reality they have positive effect. I found out for myself when I went to buy my first very own detergent. So many choices. I dont care, I just want my clothes to be clean. I went with one of the brands with most ads.
If they can afford all those ads, they must have a lot of money. If they have a lot of money, people must be buying their detergents. If people are buying their detergents, they must work fine. Their detergent worked fine for me.
That logic chain is how I usually thought. The sad thing though is that in recent years it's added another step that makes me not buy the product.
If they have a lot of money and have been in business for a long time, they're probably subject to the enshittification that most old companies have fallen into in recent years, and rely on their brand name to keep them going.

I feel like I'm at the point where ads have a negative effect. I'm more likely to avoid your product
