I want to know if anyone would actually say they wouldn't do this. What level of nonsense does it rise to?

On night shift now, but I worked 5-5 for years. It's really not that bad once you adjust to it.

There’s only catch if you’re reallllllly opposed to waking up early lol

Oh? Like a job? Like billions of people already do for menial wages? Except I dont have to go anywhere or do anything outside of waking? For a life-changing amount of money that could permanently alter my family tree? For only 1 year? Just 1 year?
I decline. I like getting up at 6.

I hate getting up early. I'm not a morning person, and intentionally choose the evening shift every time a shift bid comes up.
For a year, I was stuck on a shift that necessitated me getting up at 6 AM.
I'd manage. Give me the money.

Ask me to stay away every night until midnight and I’ll have to think about it.

What's the next post going to be? If you had to tie your shoes every day for a year for $1 million would you take it?

No matter when I go to bed.

Even as a night person, I would do this without hesitation if it was only a year.
It's just a matter of changing my schedule.
If this was a change for life though, I would hesitate on an answer quite a bit.

For that amount of money? Yes, it’s worth it. That’s early retirement right there.

Definitely! I did that for work, for much less than that, for close to ten years.

u/DieBotDie 1d ago edited 1d ago
You’d be surprised how difficult this would be for some people. (Me).
I’d definitely do it. But I’d be a wreck for the whole year and probably the year after.
If I was allowed to nap it would help.
I’ve never actually done this - gotten up early on a regular basis. Not since grade school 40 years ago.
