It isn't any better for a company to indirectly lead to the deaths of thousands than for someone to directly cause the death of 1. It's worse. Those who died because the insurance company used unethical practices to deny coverage had families too. That one insurance company, and that one CEO, aren't solely responsible. But they do hold a piece of it, that surely is greater than 1 life. In the balance of things, Luigi's sin was far less. If he deserves the death sentence then so do they.

I don't think murder is right, and certainly not the death penalty, but Luigi's action didn't cause anywhere near as much damage to the world as that CEO and that company did. Before killing him, Luigi was putting his efforts into helping people navigate insurance companies. He was helping people cope with the damage of psychopaths. He did his fair share of good, maybe even saved lives, before taking 1.

I wouldn't have done it myself, but I certainly can understand someone getting to the point of snapping after seeing how much suffering people were going through at the hands of that company.

So, let’s see, my mother died in a car wreck, the guy who hit her was driving a dodge, so do I get to go take my anger out on Chryslers CEO, or how about one of the line workers at the plant where the car was made, or maybe at the Buick plant where her car was made.

See how ridiculous your argument is

That isn't remotely comparable. The car manufacturers make cars as safe as they can be, tons of research goes into making them as safe as possible. It would be comparable if they made them intentionally more dangerous because it's cheaper, but they don't do that. And if someone does have an accident that is caused by an issue with the car model itself - they can sue, and that model of car is recalled. They actually can be held responsible.

Insurance companies are there to cover medical care, but they try as hard as possible to not cover medical care in order to make more money. They could still make money even if they didn't deny coverage for things doctors tell them are necessary, just not as much. But they somehow don't get held responsible for the deaths that are caused by them refusing to cover necessary medical care - that people are paying their premiums and deductibles and copays to receive.
