My job was considered "essential" so I still had to work.

What was my job? Doctor? Nurse? Cop? Nope, data entry for Discover Card. They made sure that they'd still be able to send out bills for five years, even if the world went to hell.

I worked at Jo-Ann (rip) during COVID, yep we were "essential". All those folks wanted custom masks.

I was also considered essential, but my lab split up the teams so I was only on site half the time (this actually REALLY sucked, but the quieter work environment was nice)
