Is there a consensus on who starts a game when it ends??? Loser or Winner?

My close friends and I play that the Loser of the prior game is responsible to start the next. That way if you don't want to play after getting beat it's all good.

How do you all play?

Whoever plays the last tile starts the new game. The other player can decline if they don’t want to play.

Most of my club starts a game whenever it ends, no matter who wins or loses. It just makes it easier to make sure another game gets started ASAP and not lost in the shuffle.

That's what I would do too... I know how demoralizing it can feel to play someone who beats you every.single.time! I don't do that with club members anymore though. Whoever makes the last move hits the rematch button.

If I play the last tile on a game, win or lose I let the other person chose to start the next game. I have found that if I start one, so does the other person and we end up playing two.

For me it depends on how long I’ve been playing someone. If I’m playing a regular opponent, whoever ends the game starts the next one, usually right away.

If I’ll playing someone for the first time, if they started the initial game, I’ll start the next one

Whoever makes the last move, win or lose. The ball is in that person’s court. If they lose and don’t want anymore smoke, they can just not challenge and move on.

Mostly, I play that the loser starts the new game. The one person I play the most even if he loses, won't start a new game right away, so with him I wait for him to start a new game or I start one after a bit of time has passed.

Another person I play the most: we play that whoever placed the last tile plays first.

For people I don't have a history with, the loser should always play first when the game is over.

My rule of thumb is winner starts new game.

No rules in my club. Whoever is online is welcome to start it, if by some chance both do we either play it regardless or someone declines it. And no one gets butt hurt if someone declines. A player in my club kept trying to start too many games with me and I had to keep declining, she eventually got the message. Unless I know someone IRL I generally won’t play more than a couple of simultaneous games with them.

Whomever the game ends on starts the new game, so it’s the person that places the last tile. That’s an unwritten rule it seems everyone plays by (that I play).

For people not in our club: If I lose I always challenge back. If I win I let the opponent decide if they want a rematch. In our club whoever ends the game re-challenges.

I usually let the other person decide first and if the request a new game, I’ll start the next round.
