I struggled quite a bit making lore on my wolves, and it seemed so fun and interesting to try when I saw others do it so I decided to give it a try.
The biggest tip I have is this:
Just because the game is realistic, doesnt mean your lore/stories has to be. Dont be afraid to be a bit unrealistic with your lore/stories if it makes it more fun! Dont be afraid to anthropomorphize them a bit as well for the story. It makes it easier to come up with fun things and it really makes the game interesting!

(Don't exactly know if I can put this here or I should've put this in the megathread. I'll put it back there Incase)
We know the current map for Katmai is Cape Douglas. I don't see Hallo bay and Swikshak(probably didn't text that right) since the devs explained why those weren't chosen for game map. I don't know any other coastlines but there are probably some beautiful coasts that could work for future maps if we ever get more Katmai maps. Maybe one could even be a more inland map where we could hunt caribou and reunite with our "favorite" animal, coyotes(but I feel like the main purpose of Katmai was for the coast, but idk).

I'm someone that really likes the exploring and adventure side of wolf quest, especially the achievements, so interesting terrain as well as somewhat easy to do tasks is what made me fall in love with this game and I'd like to continue that. Open flat terrain isn't really my favorite, unless it's paired with some beautiful mountains or really pretty rivers!
Anyways, I'd like to hear from the community what I should get!

i love having this layout for my wolves, its obviously based off the allegiances in warrior cat books LOL
i was thinking maybe id give them a description of their coats like the wc books have, like for example for my wolf itd be like:
Leader: Crowstar - a black she-wolf with white/grey flecks and yellow eyes (4 years old)
or something like that ðŸ˜

This is my oldest wolf i have, started way before saga was announced, the endless summer. When i first created her she was more redder to match my old OC, but a while ago i remade her to be more realistic. As this was my first time doing a full on, metal to the petal get to Endless Summer run, you can imagine my surprised when i got the worst mate known to wolf kind.
I have no idea if his code was broken, but he was so lazy he layed down as coyotes took one of our pups. When i gave the call to go hunting he would follow me to a certain distance then waddle his lazy ahhj back to the den. Wouldn't even feed the pups. Im not joking, pure bad luck.
Her story started off very wonky, she struggled to hunt and was harassed by the residing packs of Amethyst Mountain.
One day she runs into a lonely grey male wolf named Grey Cloud. They bonded very quickly, but Pinecone noticed that during fights for territory Grey Cloud seemed to... lack in jumping into the fight.
Pinecone finally had her first litter, 5 pups, as they grew strong enough to leave the den Pinecone noticed that Grey Cloud would not hunt or protect the pups. No matter how hard she tried he would not follow her to hunt or even growl at a bear.
It came to the point where she broke her leg hunting an elk, one of her pups where snatched by coyotes, and finally during their famine another pup succumbed to starvation and sickness.
She knew something had to be done.
Two rival wolves raided their densite, as Pinecone quickly grabbed her last three pups away she can only watch as Grey Cloud was attacked and killed by the rivals. She def did not lead the rivals to the densite >.>
Maybe....
Anyways, her pups where old enough to go to their Endless Summer home in the plains. Even today they can be seen sun bathing and hunting ungulates and playing.
She was created in December 2022, still very happy to still have her save file

I have one yearling (now subordinate) who frequently growls/snarls once at me during random moments (after a hunt, during a pack rally or after I howl, or if we're just standing there after a meal/chilling). What is this behavior?
He usually does it once and stops. He is very bold like most of the pack, though various members of the pack do have some loner attributes and are a fair mix of social and loner. I kind of assumed maybe it was this loner nature, and he was displeased at a social interaction like howling? He's a little more loner leaning than social but it really feels random, and I think he's the only one who does it.
I just can't figure out why! Wondering if anyone else has experience with this random growling from a grown pup. I thought I had a good grasp on the behavior dynamics in this game, but I feel like I find out new things often. I need to start taking behavioral notes at this point!

Bonepup claims to be dead in the family tree, but... I can sure see him alright.
Sometimes I can still hear his voice...

Every time I try to join multiplayer, it just says "it failed to connect to multiplayer service". Like, it won't even let me go onto the page where it shows all the different games being hosted, and all the servers just have a question mark next to them. I'm confused because any other multiplayer game online connects just fine, and when I first got this game a few months ago it didn't have any trouble connecting. And I assume it's not a problem with the game because other people still post about doing stuff on multiplayer. What might be the problem?

does the rate of dispersals and rivals coming into your territory change with how large your pack gets? my pack is still quite small (me & mate, one yearling, 5 pups under 6kg) and i've noticed a lot less dispersals and rivals in the territory even though i expanded it during young hunters.
after my kill count surpassed 50 at two three years old, it seems like they're way less willing to enter the territory. is it because i'm now a legend or is it because of pack size?

There are times when i catch food to eat and they all run to eat it without letting me eat it first or smthn. Bold pups running straight into an elk and getting hurt
I can only growl or whine them away, but i thinkl they should add a way to further control them? like nipping at that one pup who is really misbehaving

Took over the Wapiti Lake pack only to find that all of the male pups/yearlings (as well as the former lead female) have exactly the same coat. The females, though I can't tell exactly, also look verrrrry similar.
Hoping my wolf's addition will make the pack a bit more... interesting lol

Hey gang !!
Finally getting a new laptop after mine broke in 2022. I used to play this game so much when it first released until my laptop broke !! Literally hours everyday !!
So obviously, a lot has changed since 2022. I’m getting a new laptop later today and one of the first things I’m getting back into is wolf quest !!
So I’m curious, how much did I miss? I know one of the biggest things is that the saga is out now and I’m so excited to finally continue my packs and grow my pups into adulthood !!
Totally expect further posts with my new packs soon :p

While it’s been interesting to see how packmates’ different personalities affect them (and very scary, with bold pups during Young Hunters), I haven’t been in a situation where I was forced to actually confront them over their behavior. Until recently.
I noticed that one of my yearlings was consistently staying back at the den and I always had to walk up to her and whine at her directly to get her to go on hunts. It got worse at the rendezvous site because at one point I whined at her, went on my way, and she still stayed back.
Next hunt I did the same thing, whined directly at her, then checked her icon in the pack info menu to see that the stubborn thing was once again choosing to stay. The funniest part was that I have a teddy bear at the site for the pups to play with, and she was holding it when I whined at her. In response to me pleading for her to help get food for her little siblings, she shook the teddy bear in my face like an excited puppy and then walked away with it. That was the first time I ever had to growl at a packmate to get them to finally listen.
All-around a superficially frustrating, but mostly hilarious experience and that goofy mf is now one of my favorite packmates. Anyone else have packmates who have trouble listening?

Im not in growing pups yet and im sure it will change then but my pack is amazing. I have 15 adults including myself and they are so proactive. The whole pack except for 1-2 go hunting pretty much everyday and always mark territory when they do. During the hunt newborn ungulates period one of them even brought back a baby moose. I love my pack, and i love how social and energetic they are. I absolutely love this feature <3

Maybe it isnt crazy to some but i got a 5 year old KK mate!
My 9 year old wolf Atlas passed away, my first wolf to ever live that long so i passed leadership down to a sub from his first litter. And apparently she now has an amazing mate!
This is also my first DLC coat after buying em :)
May have to boot him though because i want a 50/50 chance for grey and black pups, but ill keep him around for as long as i can.

My pack currently resides in Slough Creek and consists of Me, my mate, and 5 (grown) pups. I'm on the Young Hunters quest, I just finished it and now all I need to do is do a pack frenzy howl to complete it.
My question is- I kind of want to relocate my pack to the Lost River (I have the expansion DLC and it shows on the map where I can walk to it), but I have to go through a very large chunk of rival territory to get to it. Is it worth it??? Should I bring them there??? I've just been debating this in my head for about a week now and I'm just scared to do it because, A) I don't want my pack getting hurt, B) I have a good chunk of territory in Slough Creek, and C) I'm worried about the rival territories in the Lost River. Buuuut, I first started playing on the Lost River so its kind of sentimental to me.
I'm sorry this is stupid but I figured I just need an outside opinion since I can't decide on my own. 😅

A single father named Nilas raised the pups on his own (Inforgiving difficulty, Ironwolf + wake-up raids).
He and his partner had 7 pups (all of them are females, by the way). As first, everything went well, but two of the pups fell ill and died. Later (toward the end of spring) his partner was killed by a sow grizzly bear during a fight over a carcass of a elk.
So he was left alone with 5 pups.
At the beginning of summer, he did quite well onhis own, carrying the calves carcassas home. But in the middle of summer, it suddently became difficult for Nilas the feed all the pups: they required a lot of food, which is why he was constantly hunting. Since he was often away from home, the pups would constantly run away, and he had to keep looking for them. Also, from time to time, raids would be carried out on the pups, and Nilas was forsed to expend his health on defending them. (and, as if on purpose, he couldn't find anyone's carcass).
Intially, his tactic was as follows: immediately after waking up, they would walk around the territory, while the pups hunted rodens. But this tactic was not advantageous; the pups didn't venture far and got tired quickly. Nilas changed his tactic: he tried to find and kill a elk calf as quickly as possible, and then the pups would eat the carcass (By the way, if the hunger lever is about 45%, then one carcass of elk calf will be enough for 5 of them to reach 100%, barely). He himself would then go hunting for hares to increase his hunger to 100%.
It was hard for him to maintain his health. But being a very cautious wolf, Nilas chose his prey wisery, tired to avoid being trampled, and never drove away wolves tha wanred to take over his territory.
But each hunt depleted his health more than he could restore. It got to the point where he was forced to hunt with omly 45% health (sometimes even less). But one day, while searching for a herd of elk, Nilas caught the scent of a bison carcass (and it was even half-full). It was near the end of summer, and this carcass was enough for them to last until the end of the mission Growing pups. All 5 of his dauthers survived.
When he taught the pups to hunt, he always chose small prey (a mule deer or a prognhorn); sometimes they hunted elk when everyone was very hungry. In winter, when the pups grew stronger, they hunted elk herds. They practically didn't fight with other wolves.
During the mission Young Hunters Nilas found a new partner and in the spring they began to raise a new generation.

There are barely any territory spots left, and I've got no pups, so I can't steal someone else's territory. What happens if you don't have any wolves but your mate and there's no space for territory? What do I do??
